Amazing heritage site. The visitors center is wonderful and has great food. Requires lots of walking. If you are claustrophobic, you might not want to go in the archeological site itself. It is tight and dark.

One of the best things I've seen in my entire life. This place is beyond mesmerizing. Just a stunning piece of architecture with so many unanswered questions. Amazing to think with all of today's technology we haven't a clue how they managed to build such a structure. I was surprised by how big it was to, as normally these structures are tiny compared to how it looks in the tour books. Love it!

Very interesting historic site. Quite impressive to stand inside the tomb that was build 5 thousand years ago.

However, the whole visit experience is very dissapointing. 1.5 hours of waiting for your time slot at the visitor centre. Then waiting for the bus. At the site you wait again for the tour guide . When you finally enter the tomb the number of people is too large and you spend there maybe 10 minutes. If you entered last you leave first, no chance to look around. Very rushed. You have plenty of time to visit outside area but without information boards you end up just wandering around. Sure, there are leaflets for visitors but on the day we arrived the English version was unavailable.

Newgrange is a beautifully restored, ancient monolithic structure older than the pyramids over Stonehenge. The surrounding grounds are peaceful and the view of the valley and countryside is spectacular.

The tour guides do an excellent job of storytelling, painting a picture of what the area was possibly like 5000 years ago and the mindset of the people living there at that time. The unfortunate thing is that they tell you much of it is speculation. It is however, amazing to think that people without modern equipment could have built such an a structure with it’s interacted design and alignment.

This was a much anticipated stop on our trip to Ireland, unfortunately, because of the lack of facts about its building and the people resulting in speculations by the storytellers, I rated it a 3.

If you are into ancient things it is worth the time and the effort.

Unique history and experience. So amazing to get to go inside to the center of the passage and stand where people did 5000 years ago. Scenic views from all around this area. Look for the two little mounds in the field below for an idea of what an yet to be excavated passage tomb begins like.
Only a few decorated rocks on the outside of the tomb. Walk around and look for the small details.

Extraordinary site where you are allowed to enter the tomb's passage and see the inner chambers with their extensive rock carvings. The simulation of the Winter Solstice illumination is impressive, bathing the space in eerie golden light

A great place for a student stuck on a field trip or a tourist who has no idea where the bus is driving. Don't bother asking questions because the amount that is known about this place is basically zero and that lack of knowledge will be delivered by a way too intense tour guide. If you have a question, just remember the press conference scene from Hogan's Heros. It's funnier, will allow you to escape for a few moments, and is basically the same answer you'll get from the guide. Do you want to document your mediocre visit? Well you can't because there are no pictures.

Great guide, makes the visit an experience. Friendly personnel. They have to figure out their booking service though. It is on a 1st come 1st serve basis, even though tickets are bought ahead of times. They should allow to book tickets for a specific time zone. You may show up there in busy times (Spring/Summer) with tickets and not be given entry access. Make sure to be there early if be ready to wait. There is a cute little shop and a large cafeteria on site.

Unique place to visit with a rich history. The tour guide was charismatic and explained really well.
However, go early since getting a ticket is not an easy thing.

Really enjoyed my visit. The guide we had was very informative. I was surprised by the level of her honesty, as she did not try to sell the concept or claim to know everything which is really refreshing. I have a knowledge of geology and forensic science and can spot speculation a mile away. This lady knows her stuff.
