This was the best distillery tour we went on! You get to see the old equipment and a three whiskey tasting at the end. Overall the best whiskey we had too - the whole group agreed!
Fabulous tour! Went last summer. Not a tour of how whiskey is made today, but how it was made a hundred years ago. Totally fun!
Distillery is lovely, we missed out on the tour because we didn't book ahead, but we could still walk around and see a lot. The restaurant staff weren't that great - stood and waited for awhile without any service even though they all looked at us. No GF range.
Lonely place to visit staff were friendly and helpful and the food was perfect could not ask for better keep up the great work
Really nice place
Interesting things to see.a good story behind it all .make sure you get the guided tour.free taste of the produce.
Food in the restaurant is great
Place with interesting history. Great tour. Great Whiskey. Just go to see.
Meet my partner at the distillery for our very first date!! enjoyed the guided tour as the tour guide really knew her stuff!! quaint and interesting place to visit.
Wonderful experience! A hidden gem!
At Kilbeggan Distillery Experience it is possible to get a guided tour in an old whiskey distillery. Worth a visit! Do not forget to taste the liquid products, although not much Irish Whiskey (with e) is in the hands of domestic production anymore.
I was disappointed. I fully expected the distillery to be running at least partly, considering everything I'd read about it made it seem like that. But it only is actively making whiskey a few times a year from what I was told. The rest of the year it just sits empty. You can walk around and see the rusted stills and everything from its history, but I was expecting more. The trip to the tasting room is worth a visit though, if for nothing else but to try the 21 yo (or 24? I can't remember) Kilbeggan whiskey. Fantastic whiskey. Normal Kilbeggan is nothing special.
Great insight into the manufacturing of whiskey. I went twice. Years ago back in 2004 and again when they had a sort of opening day after the new buyout and taking over of the distillery. Both were fun but the latter was a better experience overall because of all the new money put in. Fun day and I'd recommend anyone to have a tour of the place whenever you can. Great fun and interesting. Learned quite a lot. Loved it.
