Dropped into Keenans at 11.50 for lunch as it was the last place on our route to the west for decent food. Suprise, suprise. We were told there was only soup and sandwichs available as lunch did not start untill 1200. Resigned to this fact i ordered a chowder. The chowder arrived and i noticed a big black hair on the side of the dish and in the chowder. Not nice at all.
I sent it back and after a good wait a fresh chowder arrived.
I started to have my chowder and bitter disapointment, the chowder was like water in consistency.
I have stopped into Keenans many times over the years and the food was always good, however my last visit was over a year ago. It seems since the remodel of the Gastro pub that that the service and standard of the food has declined. Will try next door for food on my next visit through Termonbarry

Lovely cosy pub. Open fire in the corner. Good food. Friendly staff. Parking a little tricky outside the pub door. Will definitely stop there again

As far as local places go or even if your on a journey to somewhere else, make sure you stop in here for food. You will not regret it. I had the ravioli with spinach and a sauce with mozzarella over it, I ate it within minutes wanting more and more, I even ate half my wife's dinner which was the chicken breast on beautiful bread with lovely sauces great price too and staff are friendly and polite. Again I cannot stress enough that you should stop by here no matter what ! I'll definitely be coming back again.

I went to Keenan's for lunch with my 2 friends and had a lovely meal. We had lamb, beef and cod for mains and everyone enjoyed it. Lovely food and great service, will return.

An amazing eatery on the banks of the shannon. Recommend the steak sandwich with a pint of Guinness to wash it down. Great staff and decor.

Restaurant serves good, but menu tends to remain the same. A bit on the pricy side. But always very busy in the summer.

Great halfway stopping point if you are crossing easy to west. Soup of the day, chowder or menu of the day always good value. The fact they are always busy is a sign of the quality.

Amazing steak sandwiches, we've gone back a few times. The meat was so tender and the pepper sauce is fantastic (but never enough! those little jugs are too small!).

Lovely setting and the staff are very helpful. Worth a visit. Also remember there is parking to the rear as parking at the front can be difficult due to a busy main road.
