We went on the 'behind the scenes' tour and enjoyed it. Not really behind the scenes in that you don't see the actually current day distillery, more a romanticised version of whiskey making but still enjoyable. It's a "theme park" for grown ups but a good one. Still prefer the Bushmills tour which we did a few years back.
Very interesting tour of old distillery with walk through of process. In the shadow of their modern facilities.
It's a good experience - though the tour may be a tad short and not really showing anything that might give you a clue on the modern processing of Jameson's products, it's still a nice romanticized excursion through the (not so-)olden days of this distillery. Quite a lot of history to it.
Amazing!!! My boyfriend and I had such a wonderful time. Staff and tour guide were very friendly and educational. The distillery was beautiful! And of course the whiskey was delicious!
We really enjoyed the tour and walking the grounds of the old distillery. The tour is a little pricey, but you get a nice pour of Jameson at the end and if you're lucky you might even get to sample a few other whiskies in the gift shop. The bathrooms are really clean and parking was easy. The tire offered a great history on the distillery and whiskey in general.
Well worth a visitits a sensual delight. The historic old converted barracks makes for a brilliant tourist experience, the smells are eye watering, old style buildings have been perfectly preserved, and the tasting session speaks for itself. I've often seen Jameson Distillery bus in town, and I must find out if its a courtesy bus, or if you must pay for itbut it certainly makes the trip far easier.
What an incredible tour and tasting! Our guude was wonderfully friendly and informative. Would have loved to been able to tour the new facility to see the effects technology has had on their process of distilling.
Worth the trip. The guided tour is worth your money. The tour guides are very knowledgeable and patient for all our American questions. The sampling at the end is great. Made me appreciate Jameson Whiskey
Great private tour with Brian(we were the only ones on the "Behind the scenes" tour). This great lad took his time telling the historic stories about the ins and outs of Jameson. If you like whiskey, this is a must see/hear/taste in your lifetime!
