Lots of great well maintained walks. Fantastic scenery. Visitors centre great for local history and wildlife info. Restaurant good for light bites. Have visited the castle gardens but have not yet been inside the castle (but it looks nice). Main gates remain open all the time so you don't have to worry about getting locked in!

Really beautiful place! The castle & gardens are an oasis in the wilderness! The gardens are meticulously cared for & it is easy to see how they have evolved over many decades to the state they are in today. The castle still has the feel of the family who last used it as a home with most of their furnishings and effects still in place. The story of the castle & gardens is fascinating.
Our guide around the castle, Brian, was superb. He introduced a little humour into the tour which was much appreciated. His story of Yuhudi Menuhin's visit was very funny. Leave plenty of time for your visit. We had about 4 hours & I would have liked to stay a bit longer.response / report this review -

Not been in the house but the gardens and woodlands well worth several hours of adventure. Good cafe and toilet facilities. At the visitor's centre plenty of car parking, good overall facilities and lovely presentation of house and gardens. A place you will return to as often as you can.

Spectacular. A 4km hike along a wide path, or a bus ride for 3 euro will take you to the castle and gardens. Once there you can stick around the estate if you'd really rather not walk too much, or you can pack a lunch and hike and hike and hike.
The natural scenery is an adventure and the gardens are art. If you're thinking of going, do.response / report this review -

The park itself is amazing! Beautiful scenery - lakes and mountains are amazing. The castle is lovely. Had coffee and cake in the cafe - all nice!
The visitor center is a bit dated and was closed by 6 pm in summer season. Last shuttle bus from the castle is 5:45. No one told us that - we found out just in time!response / report this review -

Absolutely Beautiful Place on the earth :)
Would recommend we're visit here, it is just amazingly beautiful park. The scenery is breathtaking.
The castle tour is very interesting too.
The gardens are gorgeous.
Lovely tea rooms for coffee and some sweet. Walk is better than minibus, just 30 min to the castle. Lake is very clean and mountains souroding amazing. Magical !!!! Has my recommendation!response / report this review -

Nice national park. Lots of parking space for free. Then you have to decide if you want to take the chargeable shuttle bus or walk for 4 km to the castle. The scenery around it is very beautiful. The garden and the surrounding area is free of charge, but you have to pay for a tour through the castle. I can recommend Glenveagh to anyone, because it's a good place for a trip, also for kids.

Hidden gem. Beautiful unspoiled Irish countryside. The walled gardens are amazing and well looked after. The cafe in the castle itself is a good choice for food. There's a regular mini bus to bring you from visitor centre to castle but I would recommend walking to the castle and getting the bus back weather permitting. The tour is informative and completes the visit.

Beautiful national park with a lake & majestic landscape. Absolutely wonderful castle with a great interior tour, gardens & rich history. Nice 45 min walk from the castle to the car park / reception area, but also has a bus service running every 15 minutes.

Beautiful stunning a must visit. Free car park and free access. The bus to the castle costs however easily walkable. Superb tea room at the castle.

This is my favourite place on Earth. The landscape and gardens and walks are beautiful. And, there isn't a fee to enter the park, apart from a small fee for the guided tour of the beautiful castle.
The tearoom up at the castle has great food, severed by helpful staff.

I loved the place, the only issue I had was the closed paths. Everywhere you walked seemed like a dead end due to "improvements." I missed the castle tour because I had to back track. Great views, and the walk back was enjoyable.
