Popped into Ballinasloe off the M6. Pillar House has really tasty food and the barman and waitress were really really friendly and welcoming. Great spot.
Great atmosphere and staff extremely friendly and helpful, and big thanks to the chef's for the lovely food
Decent room with two seperate beds and a small bathroom.
For a 30euro B&B including breakfast it's good!
Drink is good place is nice
Nice friendly pub
I am surprised that this miserable place gets good reviews! I stayed half- night there and there was:
1. No heating !!
2. No hot water on the tap!
3. No Wi-Fi; luckily I always carry my mobile broadband with me.
4. No toiletries
5. Room main light were not working! only the small side lamps did.
6. No sympathy ; had to ring near midnight to be told nothing can be done about the heating but was offered ' an extra duvet'-- there was already extra one in the room but was basically dirty.
I couldn't keep up with this and had to leave mid-night for another hotel.
AVOID
Great experience, excellent food, will defo keep going back - never leave the place hungery.
Very nice little pub/bar. If you are traveling between Galway and Dublin, stop in to this place for lunch or dinner. Not a lot of tables, but it has lots of character.
Order the burger, but unless you are really hungry, split one with your companion. It is huge. They mix the beef with chopped onions and some herbs, and it was delicious.
Orla took care of us and she is great.
