Good mainstream eating place, with a Chinese influence. Main courses nice and good value; desserts overpriced for what they are. Handy for city centre.

Very nice restaurant, if a bit small. If you have a large group I would recommend that you make a reservation. Menu has a wide verity of limited options. Interior is quite romantic, and staff pleasant.

On arrival we were seated at the back of the restaurant (which we didn't really like considering there was tables free at the front). My partner didn't take to the staff and felt uncomfortable (hard to describe, but felt at times they were just going through the motions).
The food was nice. I opted for the Peppercorn chicken starter and sweet and sour chicken main. My partner had the Deep fried calamari and Sirloin Steak (with only one large Onion Ring, and not Onion Rings, plural, as per the menu. OK. I'm being finicky there!).
To sum up. Food nice. Reasonably priced. Service maybe needs a little refinement.response / report this review -

Great food, prefer to eat at street level than down stairs, a little too dark for me but might suit some. Staff friendly and helpful.

Eat here quite a bit. Sister restaurant of Marco Polo. Always very busy, so recommend either go early or book in advance. Quality of food is great, nice ambience, owners set a high standard of service. You can dilly dally midweek over some wine. Weekends are hectic.

Granted I was here on Valentine's day so it was busy but no effort to amend the menu for dietary requirements was made, so much so that after being told that if I wanted could not be prepared without onions I ordered something that appeared on the menu not to contain onion and it came out literally smothered in an onion sauce which the staff had not told me about. How is smothering white fish in onion ever a good idea? White fish has a subtle flavour completely overwhelmed by the onion sauce. Anyway My starter is also had onions. Surprised the desert did not. Although the desert was very poor and I didn't finish it which is a rare thing.

What a lovely experience dining here was. The menu was varied, inexpensive and catered to a lot of tastes. It has an Asian twist as the owner is Chinese as I believe the chefs are also.
There was a que of people waiting outside the door when I arrive just before midday. The promptly opened the doors at 12 and we were quickly seated and given menus.
The waiting staff were busy but they obviously knew what they were doing as they were well in control and kept every one happy without going overboard as soon do.
The food was very simple but it was tasty, exactly what I wanted.
I will definitely be back as while it is simple fare they do manage to get it right and with great service there isn't a lot more you could ask for.response / report this review
