The Carlow County Museum is located adjacent to the Library Building and I highly recommend it to visitors wishing to learn about the history of Carlow Town and the county. A broad range of artefacts dating from prehistoric times to present day are displayed in a converted church (note the beautiful ceiling). The vast variety of objects displayed make for a most interesting visit catering for all interests. Objects are well displayed, supported with clear and informative information panels. The building is wheelchair friendly. Allow 2 to 3 hours for a full visit.
The excellent Carlow Tourist Office is also located within the complex and a car park is a 5 minute walk away.
