Was passing through Athlone & decided to stop here, as had experienced Charcoal Grill in other towns & always found the food good. As expected the food was spot on, plates wiped clean. But the staff, OMG. There were 4 servers. The girl who took our order seemed to be new. I asked her if the mixed shish was suitable for sharing between two of us. She didnt know & didnt go back to find out about it. In fact she totally omitted it from our order. So another girl brought our order 20minuts later, with only 3 meals, instead of four. When it was pointed out that the mixed shish was missing, she said: oh. & went off. I had to go to the counter to ask whether they were bringing it or not, when i was rudely informed that it would take 10 minuts. No apology what so ever. Then i had to go back to the counter again because the pitta that shud hav come with one of the meals was missing. The same girl again, rude as ever: its coming. I said it should hav come with the meal. The diet & regular drinks were mixed up too. Maybe try putting a slice of lemon in the diet drinks to distinguish them from the regular drinks. Not too difficult. Slow service, staff require more training. Cant fault the food though. 5 stars for that!!

The food here is amazing staff members are lovey. Everyone is so nice and friendly. I've never had a bad experience here. All the food is amazing and great value for what you get. I give the charcoal grill 5 starts as it's a family fun restaurant and the food is great

Nice food although the first time I ate here there was a bad smell of rotten eggs but that only happened once. As a vegetarian looking at the walls only to see large pictures of meat dishes upsets the appetite, aside from that it is a nice place with friendly staff and good food.

Food is just so delicious. staff lovely. Rsstaurant is buzzing with families and couples and friends out for dinner.

I have been going there frequently with family and enjoyed their food always. Everything we ordered was very tasty except for one which was a little spicy. Lovely place to visit.

I went in to see what the food is like as i've seen the place on many ads. The starter was nice and i did like it but the main course wasn't so good The pepper sauce for the steak was so watery you just couldn't use it and it was the same with the sauce in the chicken cajun pasta.. Very watery! Mushrooms for the steak weren't cooked properly and chips weren't that nice too Then for desert i had a warm chocolate cake which was nice but was lacking a bit of ice cream
