Great staff, good breakfast, could do with double glazing in the rooms, as the traffic noise in the front rooms is noticeable. Tired decoration, and poor cleaning routine. Up for sale by auction, hope the new owners put some refurbish funds into this great site

Food is good but rooms are outdated. Fist hole in bathroom door. No cold water tap working, shower head broken. Rooms are small and badly kept.

Had my sons 21st here last week. The only thing nice I can say about it was the size and cleanliness of the room. It's a beautiful room, ample for a party. Unfortunately we were severely let down by the service and the food. I'd paid for finger food for 30 people. What we got wouldn't have fed 15, and the cheek they had to give our food to the other bar! Very disappointed. When we arrived they took 40 minutes to deal with us, the owner was rude and dismissive throughout the night and was argumentative when I pointed out how upset I was that the staff gave our food to people in the other bar. Granted he gave me €50 back after some discussion, but we still didn't receive even €100 worth of food. It was mainly frozen chips!! I would not recommend this place for a private function. We definitely won't be using it again.

Comfortable traditional style pub with good prices, standard pub fare on menu. Friendly staff. Good option for people staying at the Newpark who don't want to spend on fine dining in the Newpark's restaurant. I didn't stay at the Brog Maker so can't comment on the rooms.

Basic budget room & bath on the second floor above pub and restaurant. Decor somewhat dated, but the people were wonderful and the breakfast delicious. Easy walk to the castle and the pubs in town. BUT NO WATER PRESSURE IN THE SHOWER! yikes. Fix that!
