  Great for photo opportunities. The castle itself offers a great view at the very top & features many ‘museum’-ish displays. The admission fees are cheap so if you live around Galway & need something to do over the weekend, this is a good place to go.

  In very good condition compared to other Irish castles I have visited. Enjoyed our visit. Be aware entry payment is cash only (no cards accepted)

  It's a very great example of a well-preserved classic Irish Watch Tower. However, for the fee they ask for at entry, it's quite underwhelming. Beautiful scenery around the fort and breathtaking views!

  Beautiful well maintained OPW historical site to visit. Excellent example of a traditional Irish tower house.
  Free parking, €5 per adult and €3 student rate.
  Small guide booklet just €0.50.
  Toilets on-site too.

  A really beautiful castle and a nice site. Partially reconstrusted and tidy. Surprisingly many information panels offer a quite deep insight to the history of the place.

  Arguably one of the best tower castles in Ireland. The stream running on the northwest side of the walls is stunningly picturesque with the castle in the backdrop. Although I'd struggle with the bathroom situation (or lack thereof), this must've been a fantastic home for the occupants.

  Beautifully restored tower with lots of information. Very easy to imagine how life was in the past. My kids loved climbing the tower and seeing all the different rooms. Well worth a visit
