Tried to sell me a house phone with English connections without the adapter and tell me its fit for purpose. I explained that under consumer law that if it will not fit into an Irish telephone socket it couldn’t be FIT FOR PURPOSES and could not be sold without its adapter. They said they covered themselves by saying it had an English connection. Staff got very rude and I was surrounded by three of them saying I was wrong and got basically shamed out of the store. I guess this is a problem around all the Argos stores as the head office kept banging out the same tune.
Folks don’t be fooled you must be supplied with an adapter because a phone that doesn’t fit into a phone socket is just a paper weight. I hate big companies trying to squeeze the little person for every penny unnecessarily.

This is an Argos extra, and you can buy across the counter or in advance online. Online purchasing is really easy and there are seldom queues at the machine. Plenty of parking space available, and situated opposite a play area with children's and adult fitness equipment alongside a lovely riverside and woodland walk.

It's Argos, the staff are nice. I have found them to be out of stock a few time and had to hold and travel to Castlebar to get what I'm looking for. Pity they can't transfer stock for you. You can get some bargains if you keep an eye out for them. I found they are quick on delivery of large items which was great.

The only problem is the limited availability of some stock, better to check online first. I was looking for something obscure, not available in store, staff were very helpful and offered to get it from another store. A purchase I made broke down with a month to go of three year guarantee. The item was no longer available, but was replaced with a similar, more expensive equivalent.
