This was the only post office in Dublin to sell philately. I purchased post stamps I wanted and lady at counter provided great service.

If you have any interest in Irish history and their struggle for independence, this is a must see. While the GPO is still a functioning PO, the building also houses a great museum telling the story of the 1916 Easter Rising in which the GPO played a major role.

Do no use their Post Logistic Service (Pallet Delivery). This is the worst service ever. They damaged our crate in transportation and refused compensations. We paid them 65 EUR for the cargo insurance but this is useless They said: Contact DB Schenker or AIG Broker. They don't care

Started off well in the packaging section, we then went over to the stamp section and the guy who served me has white hair, old guy, and very VERY rude and grumpy. I did not appreciate his attitude and customer service. I went in there happy and ready to send something from Ireland off to my family in Australia and I came out angry and frustrated with his service. First and last experience in an Ireland post office. Disappointing way to end a awesome holiday in Ireland considering I have found every person here so lovely and friendly.

If you are into Irish history, or just walking down O'Connell street, you cannot pass this up. They don't make government buildings like this anymore. You can pay to go in the museum and it is worth it, but it is also worthwhile to keep this cheap and walk through. Just make sure you do some research first! Know where you are visiting and be respectful.

We had a great experience at the museum here and I highly recommend going for the guided tour-- there is a lot of material and our guide really helped tie it all together. I wish we'd left more time to explore, they cover a lot in the tour but there are plenty more exhibits to look at. Very informative & interesting look at the historical/social/political context of the Easter Rising and Ireland/Dublin today. Worth a visit!

Most staff in her are wonderful, yet last time I was in here one staff member was more concerned about her crossword than she was serving the Christmas ques. Only because she was finished it there and then when I gave a look, I didn't call for management. Next time however, I will not be so nice.

The main post office in Dublin rich of history. They have a desk for stamps collection and other products. If you are nearby get inside and have a look at this place. Free of charge. Staff is on average friendly and competent.

Where: General Post Office - Dublin, Ireland
What: The main city Post office
How was it: It was nice, different than what we have back home. They have statues inside and probably the best decorated Post office we have seen.
I forget what brought us here, perhaps we were trying to mail a postcard for people back home.
It's quite close to the spire and Henry street (pedestrian street with many shops)
