Great venue for entertaining kids - farm animals, gardens and play areas. Good facilities and sense of space. History to the place and well preserved estate house. Good on site restaurant with breakfast, lunch options for adults and kids.

Fantastic experience. Food all home grown served with a smile in the restaurant. Tour of house well done with many elements of the family history available for viewing. Feeding animals and collecting eggs and milk also available. A great day out for all the family.

Unfortunately, we had a very tough experience at airfield cafe. We drove down with high hopes, surely there would be lovely food since this is a working farm. We arrived ten to 12, just in time before breakfast closes, but we're told there were no more scrambled eggs. Generally not an issue, but sadly this only left two meals; porridge or breakfast with boiled eggs. None of which was appealing. Scones we're also out. Lunch wasn't served until half past 12 so we sat around for 30min. We then queued up again, hungry as wolves at 12:30, discovering the queue to order food already leading outside the building. Took us 25 min to order and receive food. We got back to our place to discover people had taken our chairs, jacket and my bag since we were gone for so long. Staff was friendly but helpless and seemed overwhelmed. The food was barely average, the quiches we ordered we're stone cold by the time we got to our seats, and overall it was just a bit dull. I really urge the restaurant management to please consider the layout of the cafe and how food turnover times are handled. It can be done smoothly, so please don't put families with kids through this. I was there with my fiance and we don't have any kids yet, but it must be an ever bigger nightmare for families! I would not recommend this place for breakfast or lunch, but can imagine afternoon coffee or tea with cake to be much more pleasant. Hope this helps anyone planning a visit!

It's amazing how this calm place can be close to the city. Amazing opportunity to have a break and enjoy some nature, get in touch with the animals and relax, enjoy some coffee while walking trough their garden and. Perfect place for kids as well.

Only used cafe. I hear gardens are nice. Cafe is bright and busy. Family oriented. Tasty enough food. Queue for service. Wasn't a great range of lunch options..South Dublin location.

Overends Restaurant features a wonderful family dining experience. One can stop in for a bite to eat with, or without visiting Airfield Estate. It can tend to be quite busy on the weekends but the wait it never too long. Dining can be a bit noisy at busier times :) The food is locally sourced and wonderful. Airfield also produces some terrific baked goods and they serve some delicious coffee. The venue overall is bright and well designed. On a quiet day it makes for a wonderfully mellow and relaxing experience. Highly recommend a visit to the farm and estate, especially if you have younger children. They all seem to love the experience!

Money well spent. Really well put together museum, farm and park. Best value is to get a family pass so you can come again and again. Great food in the restaurant. Worth coming just for that. Loads for the kids to do and see, for little ones, big ones and aul ones.

You will find there not only animal farm, gardens, and cafe but also an interesting history lesson written by Overend Family. The main house has been enriched with interactive experience creating atmospheric journey about lives of the daughters Letitia and Naomi. If you happen to travel in the area this place is well worth to visit.

My son loves going here, plenty of animals and flowers to entertain young children. Just be aware during winter months the animals may be brought in during cold spells. Lovely cafe on site.
