Nice quiet place with roomy villas. The main pool is small but because everyone has their own plunge pool it's not too busy. Most villas don't have sun in the pool which is frustrating. The breakfast is okay but nothing amazing but if you pay for breakfast you can have it in your room as well if you don't want to go out to the main dining area. They have a butler turn down service every night at 7 which is cool too but nothing special. This place continuously beats the drum but misses the beat every so often.

Sun Island is conveniently located along a busy street in seminyak. A supermarket, Bintang, is just 3 to 5mins away on foot. Once inside the villa compound, you can hardly hear the road noise. The security staff at the entrance are very friendly and helpful. We rented a bike and were not very used to the busy (and messy) Seminyak traffic. The staff helped to stop the traffic to allow us to get in and out of the villa compound. The villa itself is pretty spacious. However there is a stench from the toilet that engulfs the entire villa. Housekeeping can get rid of the stench (temporarily). There was once when we were taking a nap before heading out for dinner and a bunch of housekeepers entered our villa and bedroom. Probably our fault for not hanging the so-not-disturb sign at the door. We did hang the sign every time after that. Pray for quiet neighbours. The walls are thin. You can hear people knocking on your neighbours villa even from the bedroom. I tried to hang out by our villa's poolside 1 morning. It was impossible to have a peaceful rest as you can hear staff talking, their walkie talkie, etc. from the walkway outside your villa.

The Villa is not too bad. Had a good night's rest but hotel staff came into our room unexpectedly while we were taking our afternoon nap. Other than that, the stay is pretty pleasant

Nice hotel, clean, feels so private like my own home even though it’s around the busy street of Seminyak

Best choice for Pool Villa in all of Seminyak!

We stayed in the Deluxe Pool Villa for a week over xmas and ended up extending our stay a few days because we liked it so much.
During our tour of Bali we stayed at 4 Sun Island properties (because they have the best locations) but this was our favorite one!

    We liked it because:
    - The location is suberb! Walk to everything!
    - The villa is beautiful, roomy, luxurious and felt like home
    - The value for the money was 10/10

We recommend Sun Island Seminyak for travelers who:
    - Don’t want to rely on a car and like to walk to everything
    - Want tons of space, luxe rooms, and privacy
    - Love lush grounds, greenery, and indoor-outdoor elements
    - Both romantic honeymooning travelers, or families who want to hang out

The Room: The deluxe pool villa is perfection! Our outdoor space had a small garden, private pool with fountain, 2 tanning chairs and umbrella, extra pool towels, small seating area with table and outdoor ceiling fan, covered deck, and glass doors that could be fully opened.
Inside the main living area was a comfy couch, tv with DVD player, dining table with 4 chairs, mini fridge, cooking range, and windows showcasing an tropical garden feature. The bedroom was huge and had a view of the pool, double doors that could be closed to shut out the light for sleeping, another TV, king bed, desk, chair, and two walk around points to the bathroom. Bathroom had great natural lighting, indoor/outdoor elements, dual sinks, dual mirrors, luxurious bathtub with bath salts, closet with lights and safe, great amenities (even hair ties!), outdoor-ish shower, and separate toilet room.
Mini bar has pop, water and beer for a decent price! Lot’s of room for your own snacks and drinks too.
We just felt so good in this room, almost an inexplicable sensation.. but it just felt right!
*I uploaded a video tour of the pool villa, just search for it on Youtube

The PERKS: We loved the nightly turndown with a treat. Usually a baked good of some sort and was a super nice touch.
We also took advantage of the free afternoon tea every single day! Between 3-5 you get tea or coffee and a selection of warm/cold appies! (Like mini sandwiches, skewers, cakes, spring rolls, chocolates, etc). This was a great way to get major value from the stay.

Check In: Greeted with a cool towel, welcome drink, and escorted to the villa with room tour.

Wi-Fi: Great wifi! Worked our entire week there with no outages. Fast enough for FB Live, and videos.

Food: Breakfast is delicious! The eggs benedict, French toast with coconut filling, and so many other made to order items were to die for! At the time we stayed, there was no buffet and was all menu based, but you could order as much as you liked. Super good selection and high quality. We were always stuffed!
We can even order breakfast to your room for no extra charge, which we took full advantage of on xmas morning!

Pool: Main pool gets sun in the morning until around noon. It’s a great size but is a little on the cool side. We mainly used our private pool which we really loved the convenience of.

Location: Right in the heart of Seminyak! Steps outside the property is the hustle and bustle of the city, but inside the walls it feels calm and serene!
There is everything within a 5 minute walk, including the Bintang Supermarket (which is as close to a ‘Walmart’ as you will get in Bali, restaurants, laundry, ice cream, clothing shops, spas, etc. No car needed! Tip: There are tons of DVD places that sell for under $1 and rooms have DVD players in them!
We were surprised that we had ZERO noise in our villa from the nearby streets, as they are so close!
Seminyak is one of our favorite areas, and it wasn’t until we stayed at other properties that we wished we were back at this hotel.

    In Summary:
When we compared similar hotels with pool villas, great location and all the perks, Sun Island was hands down the BEST value around. The super reasonable prices, unbeatable location, large villas, and stunning grounds make it our fav villa choice for Seminyak.

The staff are so friendly and helpful, the room was always immaculate and the pool and food is beautiful.

For the price you pay the place is falling to bits. The actual villa is impressive don't get me wrong it's very roomy but our experience wasn't that great. Our bed was bowed in the middle and creaked every time you turned over. Our toilet overflowed into our bathroom even though we'd told them it was broken the day before. Breakfast was great. The place just needed some more TLC to make it 5 star accommodation.
