The station is still under remodeling although it seems all features are available. The walk from the station to the platform is long, so give yourself plenty of time if you are pulling luggage.

Tanah Abang, sometimes written as Tanahabang Station (THB) is a train station located in Kampung Bali, Tanah Abang. This station located to the east of West Flood Canal. The station and the canal are only separated by a small, narrow embankment and as such, Tanah Abang station is prone to flooding, especially during the heavy rain station.

The new connecting bridge is clean and tidy. The praying hall and ATMs located under the bridge. The new gate at Jati baru is wide and clean. Hopefully the platforms and old connecting bridge can be upgraded to match the new bridge, gate and praying hall, soon. 👍👍

One of the more modern train stations in Jakarta, but still overcapacity during peak hours. There are two exits: one at the south (nearer to Pasar Tanah Abang) and the newer one at the north. If you just arrive here and want to rush to the north exit, you may better take the stairs instead of queuing for the escalator.
If you want to take online motortaxi/ojek, you must go through the north exit, ignore all non-online ojek, and walk until you reach a small bus stop (people normally call it halte kecil or kapal api)
If your destination is along Bekasi line, you should go to Gondangdia instead. Though it is as crowded inside the train, you don’t have to transit at Manggarai.

One of the most crowded train stations in Jakarta. Strategic place, near from the well-known Tanah Abang Market, the biggest fashion groceries shopping place in Southeast Asia. Many people come here from around Jakarta and the greater area to visit the market or continuing their trip to another place.
Beware of pickpockets and pervert people around the station and the trains.

One of the most crowded station in Jabotabek. The facility provide by this station pretty completed and make passanger comfortable. They are provide escalator and concrete stair to support plenty passanger move to other platform that occur on peak hour. The station was clean, there was many garbage bin scatter all over the station, so people could litter easily. Clean toilet support by many staff which ready with their cleaning stuff. Several destination that cover by this station namely: serpong, tangerang, jatinegara, and duri.

Need for prayer room expansion due to current mushola need more spacious and wudhu faucet was limited number.

Late arrival very often happened on Tanah Abang - Serpong route, ranging from 10 minutes to 1 hour. Public toilets available there are very dirty. Crowded place especially when Bogor-Duri train arrived. Very minimal wudhu and musholla place makes Muslims who want to do prayers need to wait very long.

This station serves Local Economy Train to westside Java such as Merak, Rangkas Bitung, Serpong. Also serving Commuter Line. Maps of Commuter Line Route can be seen in PT Kereta Api Official website. This station nearby Pasar Tanah Abang. This station situated in riverbanks side of Ciliwung. Some times got flooded during heavy rain. There is narrow road in front of the station. Very crowded road. No parking lot. Beware for passengers and Railfans since this area is having high possibilities for criminal took action. Many good spot for Railfans to make some pictures.
