10 out of 10 will recommend. We decided to try Putu’s Wild Ginger Warung & Catering based on all the amazing reviews, and I must say the experience did not disappoint! We were very happy with our meals, and the staff is very happy to answer all of your questions about the cuisine.

One of the best meals in Bali! A small quiet setting close to City Centre this is a lovely place for dinner. Excellent local food, service is great and an atmosphere not easily matched. If you are looking for a wonderful meal for typical warung prices, this is the place! In addition the cloth napkins and China definitely put it way above the average.

We are spending few days in ubud and we want to discover the local life over here. Last night we went to have dinner there and it was quiet and really nice.
For starter we chose sweet potatos and a homeday avocado.
As a main course we had curry pork. I loved it and the taste of coconut.
    We also had nasi campur.

To drink we chose a wine made of rice and it was delicious!!

We paid 200k rupias for 2 people

Excellent place! Prices are cheap, food is superb quality and the staff are truly amazing. I had the vegetarian curry (really good flavor, not spicy, tons of delicious vegetables) and my friend had the plate that allows to you sample everything on the menu (everything was incredible!!). Stumbled upon this restaurant randomly and fell in love. I will definitely be returning here on my next trip to Ubud. Prices are super good and no expensive service charge! Although, I'd highly recommend you leave a tip for the family who runs this wonderful hidden gem.

Good food, needed some more salt. I asked for hot pepper and it did the trick. Warm owners.

Smashed out two entree. Flavor was great. Be advise the chicken is not boneless so prepare for that. The pork was kinda tough. But all overall it was a great meal.

Kinda similar to this place. I would definitely recommend “Bali Soul” (been there over 25 times). On the south west of town. Highly recommend there if you also enjoyed putu wild ginger.

Family owned and run place, wonderful atmosphere. Only 5 tables so make sure to be a little early or call ahead. The service was great and the food was the best we had during our 3 weeks in Bali. Absolutely cannot be faulted. Couldnt recommend it highly enough.

This restaurant is an absolute must visit when you are in Ubud!! If you want to try something really special order the duck one day in advance. It is great food, made by lovely people!
For the Dutch: alsof er een engeltje over je tong piest, zo lekker!

The soto ayam (turmeric chicken soup) here is packed with vegetables, my favorite bowl over two weeks spent in Bali. Putu's special kecap is smoky and sweet and spicy, and adds a burst of flavor to every dish it's in. Prices are very reasonable, especially for Ubud.

I also appreciated the on-menu suggestion to add a can of lemon-grape soda to a large Bintang for an extra 15k to make a "sandy" (shandy).

A great family-run restaurant with a heart-warming story. Their guacamole was surprisingly some of the best I've had and I'm from California. I got a sampler dish that was delicious and I could taste the love Putu puts in her dish. Definitely recommend this Warung!

The food here is quite good. The staff are friendly though they do give preference to their usual customers over the one timers.
They have very limited options but the food is tasty and portions are good.
I think they have a secret sauce which is used in most dishes.

A smal family run restaurant. Excellent food and service. The portions are not big so you can enjoy a dessert without eating yourself to a standstill. Tasty dishes, not too hot. There are only 5 tables and they are open for dinner only, not on Saturdays though. Make sure you book a table to avoid disappointment.

We went there twice after reading reviews online. The regular meals cost around 45k. They are very tasty and fresh. No frozen vege, no thickening starch and no msg. The food is delicious.

The second time we went we ordered the 24h smoked duck (which turned out to be duck+pork+sate+shrimp+vege+rice served separately). This was by far the best and most interesting Indonesian dish I'd eaten over the course of 3 weeks in this country. You have to order it the day before. Although it cost 400rp it was worth every penny. They say it's for 2 ppl but this is equivalent to around 4 average indonesian portions of food - you just need a little extra rice then.

Food is good but nothing special. Prizes are ok (45k for a main dish). On first sight the service is friendly. In fact he is just trying to sell.
All together a good location for dinner when you are looking for something a little bit off the main road.

We had accommodations nearby and walked in for dinner. We were surprised by the taste, balance and overall quality of the food. Most definitely one of the best restaurants we visited during our 3 week stay.

If you can only eat a one place in Ubud - eat here. It's great food, cheap and clean!

The best food I had in bali. Very nice mom and dad place to eat in when you visit ubud. Little bit of the road but definitely worth it. I tried all the main dishes and they are all great but my favourite is the chicken satay and the vegetarian green curry.
