Well maintained landmark of Kudus. Only motorcycle and becak are allowed to pass the small access road. The jalan Sunan Kudus is one way, therefore if you travelling by car then take at least 1 block before the final access road, or HM Subchan ZE road then find vacant slot for parking

Menara Kudus Mosque was founded by Sunan Kudus. The holy minaret mosque was founded by Sunan Kudus in 1549 AD or in 956 Hijriyah. It is said that this building uses the Baitul Maqdis stone material from Palestine as the first stone. Menara Kudus Mosque is located in Kauman Village, Kota District, Kudus Regency, Central Java. This mosque is famously unique, because it is different from the others, why? Because this mosque has a tower similar to a temple building.
Therefore this mosque can remind us of the history of Islam's entry into the land of Java that cannot be separated from the role of Wali Sanga, especially Sunan Kudus. This Holy Mosque is a fusion of art between Islamic and Hindu culture. The establishment of the Menara Kudus Mosque is inseparable from the role of Sunan Kudus as its founder and initiator. Like the other saints, Sunan Kudus has a very wise way of preaching.
He is able to adapt and indigenize the teachings of Islam in the midst of a society that already has a culture as well as with the majority of Hindus and Buddhists. One of the mixture of Hindu and Buddhist culture in the preaching done by Sunan Kudus is that one of them can be seen in the above mosque image.

One of the religious sites in Kudus, it is the final resting place of Sunan Kudus. The mosque is located right beside the tower. Lots of stalls located nearby. Parking is a bit difficult especially during the day and evening, I recommend coming in the morning (by 08:30 it's already full of visitors).

One of the tourist object in Kudus. The tower is located right beside the mosque. You have to park your car elsewhere if you want to visit this place since it is not accessible by car.

Visited this place at around 8 pm and the tower looks nice with the lights and all. There are many stalls that offers souvenirs and also photographer service that will take your photo for a fee.
