  According to the hereditary story of the mosque R.SAYYID KUNING is the oldest mosque in the city of Purbalingga, even this mosque is said to have existed before the Purbalingga district was founded, which was first built by Sheikh Syamsyudin from the Middle East in 1300 AD, and in 1500 AD it was rebuilt by Walisongo. Before Walisongo moved to Demak to build the Great Demak mosque, and this building has become a cultural heritage building. And around + -250m we can also make a pilgrimage to the tomb of R. Sayyid KUNING.

  This ancient mosque which is located in Onje-Mrebet Village has a lot of history, Raden Sayyid Kuning, I don't know much about his history, but if it's really cool there, the people are polite, happy, the family feels very good, the mosque is cool, comfortable, Nuansatempo doeloe, many pilgrims on certain busy days

  Masjid R Sayyid Kuning di Desa Onje, Kecamatan Mrebet disebut-sebut sebagai salah satu masjid tertua di Pulau Jawa. Masjdi yang sebelumnya dikenal dengan nama Masjdi Onje, diklaim usianya lebih tua dibandingkan Masjid Agung Demak yang dibangun oleh Walisanga.
  
  namun sayang sekali, keberadaan masjid ini malah diikuti dengan timbulnya aliran islam yang masih menjadi kontrovesi tentang tata cara dalam menentukan hari rayanya
