I just went here to visit the beach, not to stay on the resort. From what i saw the resort is going to it's end in a bad way. Almost looked like a deserted resort. But the beach is open for public, and it was amazing. White sands with clear blue water, i had amazing time swimming around this beach.

This place has a very beautiful view. Its white sand with its greneery and blue ocean make this place is so peaceful. I came here only for taking photos.

Kanawa island is a dream! It's very quite, the sand is super white, the water is super clear and there's enough shade. I actually doubt if I would stay there for longer than a day. There's nothing! Which is MAGIC!

Kanawa has been a great place. A poor management has little by little almost destroyed it in 3 years, I could see it going down year after year.
No bale or tents anymore, only the aging bungalows now, 2 times more expensive, and they are in poor conditions (no water here, no electricity there, bad beds, no hammocks you name it).
Bad expensive food, dirty beach, a disinvested team. Doesn't worth at all the $60++ they ask for a night. Many fish and one turtle are still there. But you don't have to go, or if you do just pass by for 1/2 day to enjoy the snorkeling but you can do that in other islets nearby, and for free.

I've been there only for visiting the beach, not for staying. The beach was beautiful, clear water and was a good place for relax. I really like the place.

The water was so good! And the different shades of the blue water were magnificent. There's also a small hill that you can hike to get a better view of the island.

It's a great area, if you're looking for reclusion. The beach is amazing. But they don't have basic WiFi and (public) bathroom could definitely use some improvement. (I hope the resort has better bathrooms for guests.)

Great location with one of the best sea and snorkelling site I've ever see, but the bungalow are basic (it could be ok depending on what you expect) but old and bad maintantanced. They miss even small things that wouldn't cost (like clips for blocking the clothes while they dry). I think it would need a new management, maybe a European manager that has.a different point of view about hosting.

Amazing scenery, soft sand, not so many tourist, but near to no fresh water for day visitor, and you have to pay for almost everything. The reefs are so so too although the beach is nice to swim in.

Amazing place. The water is so clear, you can see endless coral here. The resort is is the only one in this island and I'm surprised their food are very delicious. An hour from labuan bajo, this is a recommended place to visit.

My first impression when I reached Kanawa Island is Paradise. Sure, I never been in Paradise, but for me, Kanawa is one of the most beautiful Island in Flores. It was so quiet, all around us only green and clean water like crystal, which is allowed you to see billion little fish and coral just by standing on your boat. Awsome. If you are traveling to Flores, it is must to go to Kanawa Island, or you will never know what is Paradise.

Clear water ocean, snorkeling paradise, remote resort island, like a giant aquarium.

Our Live on Boat Cajuma Eco eventually arrived at shallow water. From the boat we can see the drastic change of color of the pale blue sea to deep blue sea. Our guide warned us to stay away from the deep sea.
So we prepared with our snorkeling equipment and loafs of breads. The small boat carried us to the shallow water near the Kanawa island. The water is amazingly clear, I can see the bottom of the sea. The water is calm.
So we jumped with our bread, and started to find fish to feed. In overall, the coral color is a bit monotonous. The fish are colorful. We have sighted a baby manta and a baby shark. Plus baby large 2 meters long sea eel.
In overall, Kanawa is a pleasant place for snorkeling. No current that made me exhausted.
And I was lucky to see many fishes including an army of fish that moves like mackerel.

Drawbacks : people are flying drones from the resort, which is noisy and distracting. The corals are not vividly colorful. If you see baby sharks, you may think where the parents are. I was told by the captain that large sea eel is dangerous after we returned to the ship.
