This hotel located in the center of the city, but not surrounded by malls, restaurants, and place of interest. The beach could reach by crossing the main road by walk because no bridge use to cross the road safely.
The building was not new and lack of maintenance that reflected by old lifts, bedding, furniture, and accesories. The amenities were minimal and the bathroom floor and bathtube are slipery.
Breakfast include in the room rate, various dishes served to the guests but the taste are not delicious enough. The restaurant also offered national and intercontinental menus, but again, the taste could not fulfilled your taste but satisfactory. The is swimming pool and fitness center could use freely by the hotel guests

Been a while since my last stay. Seems they have been renovated the rooms. Excellent service as usual from the staff. A bit worn out bed sheet, found little holes in theirs. The bed cover make my legs itchy, probably because of dust. The breakfast is as excellent as I remember. In fact their extensive breakfast was the one who keeps me back and choose to stay there again.

Great hotel with superb service, check in was quick. Dede in the front office was giving a great help. Breakfast was superb.. has loads of variety n fresh. All the staff were polite n friendly. Fully recommend this hotel. Thank you.

Had breakfast at The Square. Spread and variety was sufficient for the value. In general food was good and the service was fantastic. . Overall, I'd say it has a nice ambiance with great service.

Perfect place to stay in Balikpapan while you take your holiday there. Green place, delicious food, warm hearted staffs and of course beautiful view inside and outside hotel.
Very recommended and yes, I will stay in here again for sure when I visit Balikpapan again.

Enjoyed my first time visits to the Hotel Novotel Balikpapan. Great rooms, very comfortable and quiet, excellent bathrooms.
The restaurant offers good food and amazing breakfast selection and great service. Particular praise for Chandra who looks after guests in the restaurant ensuring a great coffee start to the day.

Staff are friendly and polite, room was clean and big. the problem only with water, yellow and need to wait until 10 minutes to be clean. Best breakfast in the city (those breakfast which never failed anyone, delicious traditional food and I really like selection of bread with sausage, bacon and frittata .

The only thing I love in this hotel is the food. The concept design of the hotel is good enough. The lobby area I think it is a little gloomy. Need more lighting. The lobby area is huge, but the feeling is like in the empty room because there are no welcoming decoration. Need to improve the interior design especially in the lobby area so that the guest can feel the warm greeting. The Facility is quite complete, and comfortable for a family with the children. The air conditioner need to be improved, too warm both in lobby area and in my room. Even I feel cooler when I'm in the corridoor. The temperature of water in the shower is quite difficult to control. Need some time to set up. Overall rating is just ok.

Look grand on the outside. Many lacks inside. Room feels old and humid. Should turn on the air-con all the time. There's no hot water in shower. Pools are full with kids, playing, screaming. Pick a room that doesn't face the pool to have a good rest.

This is the worst hotel I've ever been. The service is so awful, they didn't change our towel and bed sheet. The worst part is they took my laundry bag without my permission which I've never signed the laundry list paper and tomorrow i would have to catch early morning flight. This is so stressful.

I've been stay in other Novotel hotel, but they never ever did services like this. I 'm really disappointed with this hotel. You guys better check in the other nearest hotel, there are many hotel around here in Balikpapan which better and better than this awful hotel.

Big suite room with complete kitchen. The sofa and TV in living room are large. TV in bedroom is smaller. The bathtub is awesome. So does the pool. Too bad there were ants in the room. And 1 staffs with black uniform was rude during breakfast.

Overall a nice hotel with okay room. One of the notable feature is its spacious lobby. Pool with seaside view also a big plus.
