Situated closely to Labuan Bajo harbour contributes to the surreal scenery during sunset (or sunrise? Forgive my bad memory). You can see large ships docking. Choose room on 3 floor and enjoy the view from the balcony. Breakfast was not bad for a 2.5 star, with buffet. Only that their extra bed was just a thin mattress laid down on the floor. They can be better on this.

new hotel.. clean.. nice room especially the seaview room with balcony.. reasonable price.. well-located.. walking distance to anything a tourist needs.. very kind, warm and helpful staff.
very nice restaurant with seaview.. good for sunset.. good taste.. reasonable price..

So we walked in looking for some watermelon, water and the view. The place was empty. There were two waitresses that could not be botgered to get up. We were told that there was no cold watermelon and there is no water. So we left.

Really bad service with the laundry. Do not trust them. First of all they overweight our clothes and then they lost us one trouser (curiously the most expensive one) and we found a gash in other piece making it useless. We went to complaint about the lost and the gash but they treated us really bad and they didn't even try to help us to find the trousers. Not recommendable at all.

Only for restaurant:

They do not sell beer, so even in high peak the resto is fairly empty :)
When I came, botteled water was run out !
No really understanding of any english word - in an absolutely commercial international tourism setting.
They have an english menu. Food was good, but the fresh cooked dish took more than 40 minutes without prior notice.
The main feature is the beautiful view of the harbour.

Indonesian seafood resto and hotel, view to the sea, free wifi.

A hotel and resto at Labuan Bajo, near the seaport. Matahari is a typical Indonesian seafood resto, selling rice set menu with grilled/fried seafood/chicken, Chinese food (water spinach saute/kangkung cha, stir fry veggies), other Indonesian food (fried rice, fried noodle), sandwich and soups. Price is moderate. Taste is ok but not great.
The place has good view to the sea and the port. La Cucina Italia's balcony is visible from Matahari resto.

Free wifi and lots of electrical plugs.
