If you attempt to book a Grab or any other “online Taxi” they have men on bikes with radios who make you get out the car and block the driver. We were followed for 45mins. Exercise caution around here.

The beach it self was nice, lots of surfing lessons going on - waves a bit too powerful for beginners when we were there.

Worth a visit!

Come to Batu Bolong if you're looking for a place to surf. Private surfing lessons available for 350K per 2 hours which are great for beginners, includes board rental and rashie. Otherwise board rental is 50K. Prices are quite consistent throughout beach from what I could tell. Not a great place for a swim given the volume of surfers and the somewhat murky water. Was just way too busy for my liking.

It was so beautiful. Pantai Batu Bolong has a beautiful Sunset. The waves teased the surfer to catch them even until sunset. The location is also very easy to reach.

You can go there by rent bike or online bike. Along the beach there are lots of store to visit and lot of restaurant to enjoy.

Better if you walk around that area after you enjoy your sunset. Have a nice trip.

We tried surfing here! This beach is perfect for those who wants to surf and just swim. There is sand on the beach and no reefs. You can swim here because it's actually getting deep almost from the beach no need to go far away in the water

Great beach with little spots where you can rent surfboards for about 50.000 per hour. The waves are amazing for surfing and there are lovely cafes just at the beach where you can watch the sunset and the surfers. Recommend it 100.

Great beach and a little quiet, good place to relax and enjoy the sun. There are some surf shops and shops close. Access is pretty easy. Sand is a blackish colour due to volcanic activity. Worth spending time here

Decent, accessible beach with plenty of options for learning to surf, eating or just beaching yourself for the day. Close to other beaches and great food in canggu. Sand is black due to volcanic activity in the region. This can be kind of a cool plus if you've never seen it before (picture lots and lots of salt and pepper.

Great for both sunrise and sunset but sunset is better since you face West.

No problems with the water itself but there are pockets of trash on the beach. Lots of dogs using the sand for a bathroom so be sure you bring a towel or sarong to lie on. For some reason people go and pluck everything living out of the tide pools at low tide so if you want to see anything make sure you get there first :)

Fabulous for a run on the beach. Probably the best breakers for surfers on the west coast of Bali. Surf at dawn. Run at sunset. But Double Six beach is better for partying.

Nice beach to visit. They have live music and a small bar to drink some beers, sunset is very nice too from this beach, along the way to this place there are a lot of cafes around. Parking area is huge, right before the beach Oldman’s would be the great place to have some foods. Highly recommended

This a beautiful beach in Bali. This place is a little far from the main town but really nice. If you want to enjoy some quiet time in a beach then this is a good place. You can also find some local food price is quite reasonable. If you want enjoy the sunset here then that's not a bad idea it looks very nice. This beach is clean.

Surfing for advanced and pro people. The beach is much cleaner than in seminyak. BIG waves. Still lots and lots of concrete and plastic everywhere. Generally speaking I don't get why people ruin a perfect beach with lots of concrete (resorts etc) it just KILLS the ambience. Don't get me started on the plastic issue ;-)

Surf board rentals are 50k, the batu balong boards staff are really nice and helpful.
The beach isn't too busy and the surf is generally good! A good place to spend a few hours surfing or lounging!
Parking right by the beach is 2k for a motor bike.

Beautiful sunset here, nice and shiny. Many people are surfing, just next to the old mans. You can buy a beer and enjoy the view. Amazing place to visit !

Great beach for beginners for surfing. Board rentals (50k) with free water, and rash guards. There are also stands for beer, corn, and chairs. Great way to spend a day. Waves can sometimes get busy. The only downside is that the water can sometimes get dirty after a huge rainstorm and every time you paddle you hit plastic. Be prepared to “donate” 2k for parking

When Visited on Sunday afternoon in Jan 2018, it's a lot of people being here to enjoy the beach, big wave, relax and for surfing. It's good to enjoy sunset too

I suggest you to go by motorbike to get parking easier, specially when you visited on Sunday afternoon. So crowded.

Nice long beach. There is no entrance fee, but you pay for parking scooter - 10,000. Its popular mainly among surfers. You can find lot of surf shops and surf schools here. Also you can expect lot of dogs on this beach too, but they are usually friendly, because they want some treat from you.

Good surfing spot for beginners, though I saw some advanced folks as well. There are plenty of surfboard rental vendors and you can leave your stuff in a basket, though I would still recommend not bringing too much. There is plenty of parking if you’re taking a bike here. There are people giving out surf lessons as well.

Cool place to surfing and sun bathing. Big waves and fascinating! There's also a lot of hotel and tourist accomodation nearby. If you're lucky you can watch traditional ceremony held before Nyepi. Come and enjoy.

Great surf for all levels. Plenty of parking, reasonable rental rates for seats, umbrella and boards. Went here one night for the sunset. Loads of happy people, live music. And a gorgeous sunset!

Love this beach! I got 2 beds and surfboard for 3 hours $10. Didn't bargain so probably could have got cheaper but great spot for all levels of surfing. Great place to watch the sunset. Good vibes from the locals. Absolute bangers and mash. Bring a football or volleyball. A cooler of cold ones to share with the boyz. And you'll be set. Life doesn't get any better than this

Good surfing spot for beginner-intermediate surfers. The bottom is sandy but some parts are rocky and the rocks could be quite sharp to step on. Not recommended for absolute beginners unless you're with an instructor.
The wind is often strong, so there were kite surfers and wind surfers too.
Nice spot to watch sunset or just to chill on the beach reading a good book.

A great afternoon at this wonderful Batu Bolong Beach. The sands feels nice, big waves, meet several nice dogs. I enjoy stroll along the beach and take some pictures while i'm at it :D

I took these two photo's a little bit west(300m) of this location on by the big rocks resting on in the sea. The sunset is truly amazing as you can see. Go around 6:15pm to this location and you will get some spectacular shots of the sunset, and if lucky you may get some bystanders to cast a silhouette for you. Or just get your friends to climb up to these rocks. By the looks of it, it looked quite dangerous to reach so use your best judgement.

Its not like the typical promoted bali beach. You can rent long chairs there for a little money but there's room to negotiate the price as everywhere. Once you are there you can easily book a surfing lesson or just watch other people trying to catch a wave

This beach is rather nice. Only spent a few minutes here during the day. At night, it turns into an all night dance party with Bintang and cheap (price and taste) liquor. Party usually goes till 5am. Great for people looking to Dance the night away or chill and have conversation on the beach.

Probably the best beach I've seen for those who want to give surfing a go. Good waves out the back as well on the lower tide. Good atmosphere at this place and short walk up the street for restaurants and shopping.

Very good surf for beginners and intermediates. Water quality is disgusting during rainy season. Surf rental guys are relaxed and helpful. Line up gets crowded while keeping a friendly and relaxed atmosphere.

It's a beach, so automatically it's pretty amazing. But as far as Bali's beaches go, this is squarely underwhelming. It's busy and only getting more so. It's dirty, especially during rainy season, and the water is usually choppy. Having said all that, it's still a wonderful way to spend time and the sunsets, like all of the west coast are can be stunning.

IF you're a BEGINNER surfer or longboarder definitely go here instead of Canggu (Echo) beach where you are unlikely to get any waves. You can rent boards and a variety of surfing equipment here. Not the prettiest but always teeming with people and activity

There are good waves although in Feb. but there are not any cheap transportations from batu balong beach. if you go anywhere without a car and a bike from the beach, you should pay more and more you imagined.
