  Kegiatan survey saya menelusuri daerah muara sungai, teluk balikpapan sampai dengan wilayah luar lautnya, memakan waktu yang cukup lama sekitar 4-6 jam utk 1x trip. Lautnya cukup bersih jika dilihat dari fisik dan dalam karena banyak aktivitas perusahaan juga, ada beberapa zona terumbu karang dan penangkapan ikan, masih kaya dengan mangrove di sekitar muara.
