Very bad service. I find it unacceptable in a place like this to be told that during the weekends you cannot pay by credit card because the system is not working in the weekends (but is working during week days)
Incredibly huge rooms, nicely furnitured. Friendly staff, late check-in without any issues.
Expensive, bad service and terrible food.
The location of the restaurant is in Buda side near all the monuments. The food was perfect but the time of the delivery was not fast
We had 3 course menu called "Hungarian menu" that was for 3000 HUF (10 EUR) and it was delicious, serving just enough, it has gulash soup, paprikas with pasta and some desert. Staff was friendly. We were in garden that is located in the courtyard, so you must go thru to hotel lobby and it was quite and comfy there. We appreciated this because our baby was just asleep in the stroller and other nearby restaurant gardens were situated on sidewalk by the road so it was sometimes noisy. Prices are good for 5 star hotel restaurant.
There are not many restaurants that line the streets of the castle district, particularly the area close to Matthias Church, and the prices of restaurants in the area are generally higher which is to be expected considering its proximity to attractions. However, Restaurant St. George offers decent set lunch menus which comprise of a soup, entrée and a dessert. I'm just uncertain as to whether the menu changes per day, but what I got was a beef goulash, with a paprika chicken and mushroom entrée and a chocolate sponge cake. The other dishes we ordered were also good, a Weiner schnitzel and a roast pork dish. The dining ambience is very romantic for and unique as it is situated in the courtyard of a historical building.
Didn't stay at the hotel as a guest, but had lunch there. Their menu meal was great value and delicious, giving us a teaser of the traditional hungarian cuisine. The venue is incredibly beautiful, definitely worth taking a look. Great choice of wines and very helpful staff. We were in a group of 9 with no reservation but they still managed to arrange for a big table for us.
St. George Residence is a peaceful and solemn place.
Central safe location, reasonably priced, and unlike hotel chains, maintains the region's culture/history and still feels like Budapest inside the hotel!
Food is good. Service is nice, the waitress is very polite.
