Really nice place, we came here for our anniversary. The rooms are exquisite, facilities are great. Food was delicious, the only thing was their menu didn't cater for vegetarians. Thankfully we eat fish and there was one main course with fish but meant we didn't really have a choice. The fish was prepared and cooked to perfection though and we ordered wine with every course. I would definitely recommend.

Well-executed Hungarian cuisine in a fine-dining setting. Stopped for lunch during a tour of Tokaj wineries with the family (wife, early 20's son and daughter).

The starting soup courses were all excellent. My daughter and I had a pheasant consomme with a ravioli-like pasta that was rich and full-flavored. My son had the gulyásleves, while my wife had the daily special -- a creme of cauliflower.

Our main courses were all very good. My wife and I had roast pike fish; our son had a wild boar dish.

The wine list offered many Degenfeld wines by the glass

This hotel is a plus experience for the Tokaj region. Upon arrival we were greeted with a glass of one of the Degenfeld lovely white wines. Fully renovated, one still gets the feeling of what the building might have been like during its days as a private home. Lodgings are upstairs on the second and third floors, but the tasteful addition of an elevator makes them easily accessible. Rooms are beautifully appointed with large closets and clean convenient bathrooms, as well as mini-bar and air-conditioning. Downstairs are sitting and meeting rooms as well as a large dining room where excellent meals are served. The provided breakfast is also very plentiful, and everything is provided. The staff is most helpful and considerate, and are happy to not only arrange tours of their own wine facilities but also to contact other wineries to make arrangements for wine tours. Wine tastings are available at the Degenfeld Winery at scheduled times, including presentations in English. A beautiful pool is available for use on the beautiful grounds as well as parking. We had an excellent experience here, and will definitely return some time in the future.

No idea about the hotel. But the restaurant is great, the service friendly, and Degenfeld wines are some of the best in Tokaj: try Degenfeld Szamorodni, Andante, and Tokaji Aszu.
