At first the thermal bath was a bit overwhelming but once I got the layout figured out, I absolutely loved this! The different rooms, each with their different pools, thermal baths and steam or sauna rooms kept everything interesting. I highly recommend, especially after long days exploring Budapest! It was very easy and convenient to rent a swimming suit and towel so don't feel turned away if you don't have these with you while traveling.

This is a very upscale bath house. It has multiple pools of verying temperature. It a two medicine baths,one at 36 degrees C and one at 40 degrees C. We spent all day here. They have a very nice restaurant that serves food and various drinks, alcoholic and nonalcoholic. They also have a outdoors heated natural pool. It is next to a sauna with a cool tub to dip into afterward. We had a great time and felt to much better, no sore muscles and very relaxed

We had a mixed experience. The massage was fantastic and easily a 5 star service but the baths were a little disappointing because many pools were out of service. Visitors should be aware that you'll need to have a swim cap for the main pool. Room for improvement would be to include towels and swim caps in the entrance fee, just makes it easier than carrying around cash, and better coordination between the spa and bath services.

Great place to relax. Mix of pools to suit all (plus saunas and steam rooms). Towels are cheap to hire. Staff are efficient. Worth booking a cabin to change in - it’s a changing cubicle but you can lock all your stuff safely in there.

Those thermal baths simply feel like a warm pool, nothing more. It's a beautiful place, with a lot of space. There is a wave pool and some thermal bathes outside. They have good and varied facilities, such as massages, dry and wet saunas And they provide lockers (and locker rooms if you'd like to pay more).
Personally, i didn't really feel it was kind of healing place. It was just fun being in the hot water and that's about it.
They ask for swimming cap in the main pool, which luckily is nothing special (it's not uot or something, just pretty)

The time we spent at Gellért Baths was a really nice way to unwind after a long day of sight seeing. The space that you get to use is actually much bigger then what I had originally thought. The four main areas you get to use are the central pool, the left and right wings and of course the outside pools. There are other things you can pay for like a massage, but because we arrived late, we just tried out all the pools. The central area has a big swimming pool with a thermal pool in the back. The left and right wings are pretty much identical, the only difference being the temperatures and some decorations. Each has two thermal pools ranging from 35°c-40°c, a cold bath from 17°c-20°c and two steam rooms. Outside there was a wave pool, a 35°c thermal bath, a cold bath and a sauna. Our favorite part was the wing with the colder of the baths. We would stay in either the thermal bath or the steam room for a bit and then quickly enter the cold bath. All in all it was a pleasant experience. The only thing I would complain about is the closing time of 8pm. Perhaps 10pm would be better.

The biggest minus - no parking space for customers. You have to get out every 3 hours to pay for more parking if you don't want to get a fine. Tip: don't wait at the first queue, there are more than one ticket offices inside. The building is old and classy, but it looks amazing. Thermal baths inside were a bit crowded and loud. The best swimming pool inside has a strict swimming cap policy so bring your own - you can buy overpriced ones inside. Outdoor swimming pool has waves every hour and they are fun. Food is insanely overpriced - goulash soup is best value for money. All in all a great location to spend a relaxing day in Budapest.

The best time to go is in the early morning, where if is quieter. You will need a swimming cap for the main swimming pool only. There are changing cabins where you can keep your clothes and valuables safe as well as get changed. Only one person can fit at a time. The were various thermal baths with various heat/ cold settings, an outside heated spa and wave pool. There were a few steam rooms and sauna rooms to chose from and there were plenty of showers around the complex. The food was very good and reasonably priced. Service was good and there was no problem speaking English.

Absolutely amazing experience. So peaceful and relaxing for those wanting to go to the thermal baths, steam rooms and sauna, whilst also having an outdoor pool area with a wave machine for those less interested by the baths and looking for a more active day. The coldest pool went down to 5c, the hottest bath was 40c and the hottest sauna was at 80c so bring a towel when you sit down in there. I would advise trying them all for the experience and health benefits.
There are lots of sunbeds for those wanting to tan however it is still difficult to find a cluster of beds that are not reserved by towels unless you get there early.
There was not a long wait to buy tickets but if it is possible I would buy beforehand so you can go straight in. Once inside you have to pay extra for changing areas but everyone has access to a locker so using a towel and stowing my clothes was an easy alternative.
Food was quite expensive inside although it was a cool experience sitting in a restaurant in just our swim shorts. If you can buy food or prepare lunches prior to going then that would be a better option. We found the Goulash soup was the only item which was good value for money and it tasted great, so I would recommend that.response / report this review -

Fantastic experience. First time I've been to public baths in Budapest. Facility seems well attended. I'd highly recommend the thermal baths, very beautiful and peaceful. Even though it was a busy day I was able to relax and unwind.

This place is terrible!! Had an hour and a half and this place was recommended. I paid for a cabin ticket. It took me 20 minutes to find the cabin. And almost 30 minutes to find my way out in the end. Everywhere you look you see people that are looking for something because this place is a big Maze! There were almost no staff to help you at all. The outside pool which is the main attraction was closed. They did not advertise it on their website that I have checked yesterday. And if they did they put it in a very very small hiding somewhere I haven't seen. And I look very closely at the website. The actual termal baths were nice but all the quarters that are connecting them are extremely cold. So I froze. If you must come here bring a robe with you.

We went only in the brasserie, and had lunch. Was all good, tasty and good looking! Staff impeccable and atmosphere really calmly. Jazz music not loud as background music. Price for the 3-courses menu was really good! We paid 15 euro ca. for a complete meal

This place is a literal maze. I think you could quite easily miss a lot if only because the directions and signs at the best of times are confusing and at worst misleading.
The architecture inside is absolutely gorgeous but the lighting is quite low and so I don't think you ever really see it in its full glory. It's very busy but it's a lovely experience.
Our favourite pool was the roof top one as it was a gorgeous temperature while it was so cold outside and it was nice to watch the stars and see the planes flying past.
The staff aren't the most friendly on the towel desk but everyone else was nice enough. If I were to visit Budapest again I would definitely visit. It's a nice walk across the bridge to the spa.response / report this review -

Very nice and relaxing experience. I really enjoyed all the thermal baths, especially the outside one and the cold ones (16-18 degrees Celsius). We stayed for about 5 hours so we had time to check out the thermal baths (3 at 36 degrees, one at 38 degrees and one at 40 degrees), the showers (which were ok), the saunas (just 2 of them), the outside thermal bath (which was the nicest one because of the fresh air especially!) and I also jumped a few minutes in the cold baths (which are amazing!). The outside pool was closed (we went in late December) and the inside pool wasn't much to talk about. All in all: great experience!
