Quiet, clean hotel, good prices :)

Cockroach alert!!!
The hotel was build in mid ’70 and from then on it wasn’t renovated. It looks exactly the same way when it was build – old building with some visible mold on the elevation, rooms with a very old and filthy furniture, devastated bathrooms.
When we entered the room in the air there was a chemical smell of something but the same night we discovered what it was… We spend there 3 nights of horror. The same evening we’ve arrived a big cockroach appeared on the wall and jumped on my head! We looked under the bed and there were more…We run to the reception desk and asked to change the room – the men answered that he doesn’t understand English and he may understand some German and there is no option for changing the room.
We showed him a picture of the cockroach and Hungarian translation – csótány (worth remembering that useful word if you decide to visit Doris hotel in Siofok someday ;-) ) The man and the woman from the reception desk smiled knowingly. The lady got out of the counter “Raid” (well known disinfestation spray) and rushed to our room. She looked around with a smile like we were ling but at that moment one of csótány run from under the bed. The lady coughs it ably and commented “no problem” . She sprayed all of the room with toxic spray and left us to suffocate together with the insects. This chemical smell we felt entering the room was the disinfestation spray. Each day the room service sprayed more and more of Raid and the smell was hardly to stand even we had the windows widely open.
Reassuming – if you are not afraid of cockroaches, want to know some useful Hungarian words (csótány), like a smell of strong disinfestation spray, and would like to see how our ancestors from ’70 just to live choose a Doris hotel in Siofok.response / report this review -

Nice hotel in a central location. Looks a bit dated but very functional and the staff is very helpful.

Little room with bath, breakfast available but costs extra, 24h reception, nice staff, onside parking and pool.

Friendly and clean old style-hotel. Good and quiet location, short walk to beach. Excellent parking, nice pool. Everything works.

Wir waren in einem Zimmer zu dritt, dort war ein Bett leider nur ein mittelmäßig gepolstertes Beistellbett. Positiv war die Klimaanlage und der Kühlschrank. Das Personal ist sehr freundlich und einen kleinen Pool gibt es auch. Außerdem ist das Hotel zentral gelegen. Waren insgesamt zufrieden mit dem Hotel.

A szerelmemmel augusztus utolsó hetében 3 napot töltöttünk a Hotel Doriszban.
Mi vonattal érkeztünk,az állomástól kb 5percre helyezkedik el a hotel,egy gyönyörű ősfás környezetben.
A szobánk makulátlanul tiszta volt (ár/érték anyányt tekintve is).
A személyzet tagjai iszonyatosan kedvesek és segítőkészek voltak.
A hotel a Petőfi sétányhoz,illetve Siófok főtérhez is közel helyezkedik el.
Mindenkinek csak AJÁNLANI TUDOM.
