Bar is quite good , if your a tourist it isn’t very friendly no effort is put in by the staff to welcome you
I found the tall bar tender with the glasses on quite rude. I suppose being the only proper gay bar in the city they think this is normal .

After reading many negative reviews I was a bit hesitant visiting Coxx. The staff were very friendly and music was good with a nice crowd. This is a men only gay bar. So the lady who made a negative review and complained that they wouldn't let her in, that is the reason.

I think some of the negative reviews are from people who do not understand the entrance policy and how paying for drinks works.

You get a ticket upon entering which is a receipt for your coat check. The cost of drinks when ordered at the bar are added to the ticket. So you don't actually pay for your drinks when you are ordering them. At the end of the evening when you want to leave , you hand your ticket into the bar and they add up the total cost of all your drinks. You then pay for your drinks and then go upstairs to collect your coat when you leave.

It is vital you do not lose the ticket!
This is because it is the only record of the drinks that you have had and hence if you lose the ticket then you have to pay a penalty of about €35. That only seems fair since the bar would lose out as there is no record of the drinks you had. Yes it's quite an unusual drinks policy but once you understand the concept it is not difficult.

Would I recommend this place. Yes. Will come back again.

The barman was totally arrogant - personality like a lead balloon. Life must be hard in Hungary! Thats all l can put it down to. Tourist are not welcome here it would seem. As we left we were harassed by barmen.

This place is really weird.
When you arrive a guy welcome you strangely. Je give you a ticket and said if you loose it you should pay around 35€. When you leave he control if you paid or not.The barman always wanted to push me to take drinks
I feel really inconfortable in this place. Dont expext having nice meeting or dating. People are thé image of thé bar.
I really NOT recommand this place.

Quite nice and clean place. The bartenders are weird but the crowd is young and good looking. The cruising area is big with different corners and some action and a lot of audience.

The was serious action going on in the back room, but ultimately I'm more into the interaction at the bar and that was lacking. Went only once and wouldn't go back.

If you like it hard and direct, this is your place. Not so busy on weekdays but very much so on Friday and Saturdays. Unfortunately in the last two years the crowd there became quite proletarian and suburbian.with a lot of fat and ugly men. Used to be a lot better! I also don`t understand why there are no paper towels, soap and hot water in the second W.C. at the back. They could also give a condom at the entrance.AIDS and other deseases don't sleep, especially not in a place like that !!
Also, the car at the back could be open on weekdays, too;) and there could be more nude parties, maybe every Sunday like in Vienna or other cities.

I was there at 3am on a saturday, mixed nationalities, including hungarians And mixed age. Cheap drinks. Friendly staff. Its a cruising bar, Not a Night club.

I work in a hostel, and one of our guest wanted to go in and look around, the security told him that, he HAVE to buy a drink, he didn't wanted to, (he just looked around, 5-10 min) and they straight pushed him down on a stair, he sprinkled his ankle. So there is that. I am sure its a nice place, if they don't push you down on stairs.
