This is an epic collection of art pieces from Mimara's collection. He gave it for free to the city of Zagreb. There you can see portraits, little statues and vases made out gem stones and from 20000 B.C. and 1800 A.D. Overall expirience was great. My rating: 4.3

Great museum ,one of the best in Europe .Is small - that is true ,but instead of labyrinth of corridors you are able to meet face to face with art of the greatest painters of all history.

Turner ..and those are the most famous ,lockated on two higher floors of museum.
There is also exhibit sculptures, jeweler art works, art details made from elephant tusk ,precious stones, asian ceramic.
On first floor they always have some temporary exhibition- right now art create in glass.

Amazing artwork in a beautiful setting of a historical building. A lovely caffe with an open terace is great to visit during warmer months but is really cozy in winter as well

Great museum named by Mrs Mimara who as give the cites all of his own collection from all of the world. Sometimes in the museum is performance of lot of people any kind of artists, musicians, etc

There is plenty to see besides a couple of Renoir's. And the place is often practically deserted, so there will be no queue in front of the 4th century BC pottery shards either.

The collection itself is ugly with some poorly restored works. Don't believe the attributions to famous artists, the works are mostly fakes and forgeries (though there is no reference to this there). The museum itself is not great but do some googling, the backstory of spy and art thief Ante Topic Mimara is fascinating.

So extensive, the free audio guide was made really well, I could easily spend a whole day here and still not see it all. Well worth the money, and it's not expensive either.

An interesting and eclectic collection, well labeled in English as well as Croatian. The collection of Christian material includes some lovely early Italian paintings several Throne of Wisdom sculptures and even three ampullae brought back by Pilgrims to the Holy Land. There are also English alabasters and a couple of 13th c English wood sculptures of saints. Also some nice impressionists paintings. Time well spent for me.

Mimara is a museum housing several art collections named after the nick name of controversial Croatian collectioner and art connoiseur Ante Topic Mimara. The glass collection on the ground floor is a must see as is the painting collection on the top floor providing one of the best and most comprehensive overviews of Western painting history. Do not miss the medieval icons and the Domenico Beccafumi's Tondo.
