Nikola is one of the nicest and funniest owner/operators in town. He's incredibly accommodating, the food is delicious, and you feel like you're being welcomed into his home. If you're in Split, you must make the trip out to Konoba Nikola.

I normally is not the best fish eater, so i was a bit sceptical about eating at Nikola, but for absolutly no reason, we had a Tuna carpacio as a starter, a 7 fish tapas plate after that and finally a grilled white fish, man the food was just amazing, this was really some of the best food I ever tried, so I can highly recommend to try out this place

Okay, so the food at this place was amazing. Hands down the best seafood i ever had, and i really wish i could give it 5 stars. The owner is such a nice fellow, and you can have everything just as you like it. The reason for 4 stars "only" is the wait and price. Our first 3 dishes came really quickly after one another. But then afterwards we had 2 dishes, with around 45 minute wait in between each of those, resulting in us staying there for nearly 4 hours. We got small lobsters/scampi but he/the owner put our plates on another table, so we used our napkin as a plate because he was in the kitchen. He came back and apologized ofcourse. But eating small portions over such a long time, eventually turned into us being hungry before leaving the restaurant. We didn't want to order more because we didn't want to wait so long. The place is lovely, and there is no doubt they do everything with passion, but staying 4 hours, getting 5 courses with dessert, coffee, a bottle of wine and a beer, and still leaving hungry, can't reward 5 stars. We ended up paying nearly 1200 kunas, which is A LOT in croatia, most expensive meal other than this was a really great restaurant in Zagreb, which ended up in around 500 Kunas, and we left with full bellys. Sorry guys, the food is phenomenal though!

If you are fine with the owner chosing your meals for you (which happened quite often to me), you should definitely go there!

Upon walking in and seeing several open tables, we were a bit nervous.
Forget that - This is the best seafood meal I've ever had the pleasure of enjoying.
Nikola is a fantastically friendly host, telling us stories of the war and his upbringing at his dad's restaurant. If you ever find yourself in Split, you must go here. You won't be disappointed.response / report this review -

Best seafood/eating experience I've had in my life. Had the 5 course meal and just asked for a variety of everything as we aren't accustomed to seafood in Saskatchewan or Manitoba. Creamy scampi soup was amazing, everything else was very good as well. Stuffed crepe dessert was phenomenal. House red wine was also very good, easily on par with red wines I have tried in Italy and Hungary.
Would recommend this place as a must to anyone visiting Croatia, will definitely be bringing family and friends here whenever I visit in the future.response / report this review -

They offered us fresh fish on ice to select from. It was delicious. Plus lovely interior with an old world waiter. Best shrimps I have ever eaten. Price was ok considering the quality.

Delicious food and extraordinary dinner! Excellent wine, frendly and proffesional stuff. Highly recommended. On of the best small restaurant - konoba - in Croatia.This place is a must visit when in Split. A little hard to find - but very well worth the trip from Split to Stobrec.
