The furnishing is old and the room is full of smell of mold. Wall in the room is full of scratch marks.

Rooms have modern amenities with stunning views of the Adriatic sea and coastline, yet has managed to retain its original heritage charm. Staff are friendly and welcoming and nothing is too much trouble. Hotel is within walking distance to trendy restaurants, cafes and bars. Bar and restaurant at the hotel downstairs is lovely with an outdoor patio with a view of the Adriatic sea and coastline. We would recommend this hotel to our family and friends in a heartbeat. Stayed in April 2018, hotel has just completed full refurbishment 10 days prior to us staying.

We liked the room and the view but the problems with booking were stressful. All in all it was a beautiful hotel with nice clean rooms and a great location. We enjoyed our stay.

In the heart of Opatija with clean and spacious rooms. We were more than welcome. :) Prices are acceptable, however, parking is a bit difficult.

Cheaters!!!
We have been here two days ago, a group of 13 guests with 6 double rooms booked in advance. We booked the rooms six months ago for Bristol hotel, which belong to the same chain. A month before our arrival, the manager called us to say that they have to relocate us to Astoria because of some problem they had, and for us it is upgrade, which we understood on arrival that it was downgrade. When we were leaving, they asked from us euro 100 per room, when the contract says euro 50. I also verified this price by phone six months ago. If anybody will make reservation now, for a double room, he will see that he can get a room for euro 80-85, but 6 rooms, booked in cash as a group, cost us euro 100 !!! how can you call this if not cheating? anyway, the hotel was not worth euro 100 as for this price you get across the road Excelsior hotel 5 stars. The breakfast was very poor, the rooms were with no sea view but old houses, there is no parking available, even if you want to pay. We were disappointed coming all this long trip from the USA to be cheated.

Beautiful rooms in old decor, vet well cared for. The staff was very attentive and supportive of family emergency that happened during my stay.
Ask for a room with a view - it's worth the price.

Good comfortable rooms, amazing view if you get a room with a sea view. The buffet dinner is on the whole very good, and the à la carte menu is very good particularly the Asian Croatian fusion food. The sushi was an unexpected surprise to see on the menu and was very good. Best of all is that the staff are extremely welcoming and very knowledgeable about the food and wine served, every recommendation they made was a resounding success.
