People on ticket counters are just disaster! Reservation on one of the counters cost differently from another for the same ticket!
I thought it's gonna be nice but now it's horrible. Couldn't even use my online ticket had to print it.
New website is 10 times worst then the old one. If you click "buy ticket" you cant get back to other pages without closing browser, bought ticket after closing browser for 10 times and didn't get ticket on email. Calling info number no one is answering for 30min. Nice!
# 1: There are no public benches for the customers waiting for a bus. #2: There are no free public Rest Rooms. If you have a condition and don't have exact change for the toilet chances are you will urine on yourself. They have change machines that don't work with any other currencies other than Kuna. #3: Some information services are not offered in English. #4: People are allowed to smoke inside bus station. So if it is Freezing outside you must withstand the poisen of cigarette smoke everywhere. EVEN IN THE REST ROOM! #5: NONE of the private bus companies accept CREDIT CARDS! I could understand if the bus companies were on there private property somewhere other than THE PUBLIC BUS STATION! But there are not they are working out of a public place credit cards should be accepted everywhere already! #6: Finally they have no charging stations for cell phones.
If I could give this place zero stars I would. I got here 45 minutes before my bus from Flixbus was supposed to leave and I asked several different employees for help. One woman wouldn't stop texting and refused to help me because she doesn't work for that bus line. Other people directed me to other "room" in the station for help but none of the ticket counters are actually numbered. By the time I found someone to help me it had been an hour of me carrying my luggage up and down multiple flights of stairs (because the escalators were broken) and my bus had already left. The least they could do is have an office downstairs to tell people what platform they should be on.
You cannot buy online tickets..or better, you can but you have to collect them there anyway. You cannot pay with cards, only cash. The info about arrivals and departures on the webpage is often unreliable, always check twice. People selling tickets need some kind of training for people skills and how to be a service support. On the other hand there are bakery, shop, currency exchange place, caffes and toilets, sitting waiting area. But the whole place looks like stuck in 1970s.
It's a disgrace to have a bus station like this in a capital of one european country!!
How about lousy service and paying for toilets that don't take care about basic hygene or lack of soap&toilet paper? Or luggage room that works only till 10pm? Well, it used to work 24h but someone decided it's a good idea to change that so you are stuck in that horrible place if you have a midnight bus for example.Or basic like time table for arrivals and departures?? Who needs that, right?
Must be extremely hard for non Croatian speakers, buying tickets. But the worst thing about this bus station is, there are no escalators going down. People of all age, shapes & size come here and lots are struggling to get heavy luggage down steps. This is the main bus station in the capital city, come on lift your game
People who work in the transportation are really friendly. And if you want to return to bus station or airport you can buy daily ticket . That's cheaper than one way ticket.
The worst bus station in Europe. Is it really that hard to invest 5000€ in arrival/departure info board???
Bandiću, propo' si.
I travelled all around central Europe by bus recently, and the Zagreb bus terminal amazingly is the only one that does not have departure information posted up on screen. This is 2017. Why is such standard information as simple as which platform to go to for your bus not easily found? I almost missed my bus because I had to stand in line to ask the information desk for this simple information. Completely unacceptable.
It is a functional bus terminal for national and international bus travel, located way outside the city center, but reachable by tram. Most foreigners probably come here for the airport shuttle and that is where it fails. There are no signs showing the way to the shuttle bus which does not run from the main perrons but instead is located outside on the right side of the building through a ticket office (look for a Croatian Airlines sign). Positive: I was told the way at the information counter in the main ticket hall.
Though it is relatively old building, you can find everything you need here.
Old building and facilities and needs a lot of work there. Still, the service has improved over the last few years.
Amazing that such a big autobus station (at least bigger than Sarajevo, Mostar, Belgrade, and Ljubljana) doesn't have any monitor to check the platform. Had to go to the information desk so they check the platform on the computer!
It is about 30 minutes walk from the main square or around 6 minutes tram ride. It is like the airport, it is small, a bit dated, but it is functioning very well. You will get to where you want to go. Bus travelling is definitely better than by train.
I'm actually surprised how positive the experience was. Buying the ticket was painless and fast. Will travel again. Beats traveling with train, how absurd it may sound, cheaper to.
