Amazing privately owned and operated preserve and park. Birds and monkeys were great experience. Guide was very polite and informative. Worth the trip. Pro tip!!! Don't go to beach after tour unless you enjoy pushy dubious looking locals trying to sell you tourist junk constantly.

Spent a couple of hours here today and was very impressed with the facility. Our guide was exceptionally knowledgeable of all of the animal population on the island; the history and geography of Roatan; and was very personable indeed.

We met some lizards, iguanas, parrots, macaws and monkeys on our journey.

Price was $30 USD/pp.

Would recommend for anyone who wants to see some of the primitive residents of the island. :)

Absolutely loved this place. Friendly, funny staff, great outdoor activity, and fun for all ages. Awesome to see the different animals, and learn some history and more knowledge about the island. Would absolutely recommend going!!

We visited this park about a week ago and had a remarkable time! The colors of the Honduran jungle; combined with the birds and monkeys that are plentiful, were breathtaking and awe-inspiring. The one thing that kept this from getting 5 stars was the 45 minute bus ride from the Carnival Cruise line port to the park. The bus driver would floor it, and then slam on the brakes constantly. Combine this with the potholes that are plentiful throughout the road and it left my family of four feeling nauseous at the end of the trip. "Saint" Christopher was our tour guide and was fantastic!

Great place to interact with monkeys, iguanas, and macaws.

Our guide walked us around the area and explained the history of the location and the island. There are many iguanas roaming the area.

We went into one room to see exhibits of the different kinds insects from the area, and then walked through a cave system (inhabited by bats) to see a display about the history of pirates on the island.

The tour ended the us interacting with the monkeys. This was the shortest part of the tour, but well worth it.

Our family of 4 had an amazing time at Gumbalimba Park. Exceeded our expectations. We did the kayak and snorkeling, and then were taken on a tour of the park where we saw many different types of plants, some animals, and got to hold parrots and capuchin monkeys. All of the staff was so friendly, and went so far above to ensure everyone had a fantastic day. We were in small groups and received personalized attention throughout each experience. I cannot swim, so our guide had me hold a floatation device and pulled me out so I could enjoy this part of the experience, which was beautiful. Im sorry we cannot remember the name of our tour guide to recognize him. Highly recommend this experience to all!

It was amazing. The tour was a great hike and the entire park is beautiful. The zip lining and monkeys is worth it in itself! Would recommend to anyone and everyone. Completely blown away by all the workers kindness and professionalism. The zip lining helpers were extremely funny to be around, especially with the young ones! Cannot express how much I would recommend this place!

A great cruise excursion!! The park is a short 25-30 minute shuttle ride up and over the highest point to the other side of the island and includes access to a pool and beach. The highlight is the monkeys and the tour gives you plenty of time to spend with them as they roam free all over you. There is even a photographer who will take your photos and you can buy them all on CD for $14 per person at the end of the tour.

Purchased this excursion through Anthony's key resort. My wife and I choose to go early in the morning before it got to hot , we were picked up at the resort at 9:00 am sharp. First zip lining, very professional staff. offered to take my camera and take pictures, normally zip line companies do not allow this as they want to sell pictures taken by their staff. Zip lining was a blast. next took a guided tour through the Park, very informative, had a mother monkey and her baby sit on the my shoulder, the baby was so amusing, playing with hat, my glasses my watch, what an experience.
I would recommend going on none cruise ship days, we went on a Saturday and virtually had the Park to our selves.

I'm very happy we got to experience this park! It is beautiful and well kept. I wish we would have come earlier to have time in the pool too! I got a combo package with the zip line and the park so it was amazing value! 12 segments to go down and the tour guide was very educated and made the tour interesting. I was amazed to see a huge iguana up a tree! And to learn the green iguana is an herbivore and likes mangos! The rope bridge is fun and beautiful macaw birds and the monkeys to top it off! There was even a baby monkey and the trainer has been with them for 8 years! Great experience while on the island of Roatan! We spent about 4 hrs here ( including time to eat) and felt like we could have stayed longer but park was closing. You can spend all day here and not regret it and it close to west bay when you are done. They provide transportation as well so I loved that too! I'm so glad I got to do something fun like this on the 4th of a July!

A must see while in Roatan. Approx $40 to experience the animal park. Park has a walk through cave that gives a brief history of the island. The main attraction is the animal park spread out over several acres. The monkey city is most certainly the highlight. Guides will direct monkeys to climb all over you. Don't wear nice clothes, as the monkeys sometimes pee while they climb on you. Plan on about an hour to tour the park. The co-located zip line tour is probably the best on the island. (approx 45 min long). Cool experience!
