Great place for taking a short hike, you can climb a small mountain and reach the top which has a really lovely view. Highly recommend.

Hope to get the tour. The walk is difficult if you go on the walk up the terrain ,but he stays on the easy wooden trail and explaination of the grounds is personal and heartfelt.

Situated across the road from Anthony’s Key Resort, the Carambola Gardens is a small (about the size of a football field) collection of partially-labeled native and non-native plants in an area crisscrossed with walkways and sprinkled with resting huts and benches. Its target audience is the cruise-ship tourist – who gets a guided tour (if you show up independently, you get a map and a one-minute orientation).
The space is mostly calm and relaxing when explored alone, but not very educational as only some of the plants are labeled and then with very limited information (often just the common name). There is a large display on Cacao trees and chocolate making.
At the end of the gardens there are a couple of longer trails to the top of a hill (labeled “Mountain Trail”) with nice views of Anthony’s Key and the Caribbean Sea. The northern trail (approx. 0.4 miles) starts at the end of the garden’s "Main Trail" and is better maintained and flatter than the southern trail (approx. 0.25 miles). Both climb from slightly above sea level at the garden entrance to about 300 feet at the top of the overlook. Recommend not taking the trails on your own as they are isolated and can be accessed from other trail heads (I ran into a group of teenagers and their off-leash dogs).
Overall not worth the $10 cover – most cities in Europe and America have much better gardens that charge much less.response / report this review -

Did a great tour at the gardens learning of chocolate making. The tour was very hands on and informative. I would visit the gardens on a return trip to Roatan

Enjoyed this stop as part of the "West End Tour" cruise ship excursion.
Nice walking path with a lot of native tree's and plants to see and much information from the guide that walked us through the gardens.response / report this review -
