I would recommend this place 10 fold to anyone travelling around Honduras. It is so well rub, the food and beer is good and reasonably priced, the rooms are clean and cozy, and they have a fire pit to bring people together at night. They have awesome tours they offer and the owner Billy will help you to the best of his ability in anything you need.
If you go you need to try the blueberry pancakes! Super delicious and made with local blueberries. I was going to skip D&D all together but I'm so so happy I didn't. I never once felt uncomfortable doing tours (which I did by myself and not with a guide) or in surrounding towns (which I had to wander around finding an ATM that worked for my card).
Awesome gem of a place! It made me appreciate Honduras so much more

I came here in 2012 and loved it. I'm glad to say that it has improved in quality and ambience exponentially! A must for travelers near Lake Yojoa.

I was born in Honduras and it was my first time back since I was 4, I'm now 25, and this is a MUST if you're going to Honduras. The coffee was literally the best, the beer was amazing, the food was delicious and the rooms are awesome. The best part was interacting with all kinds of people and the locals that work there are great, especially Walter and Ernesto who were super helpful and friendly. Thank you so much for such an amazing experience. Definitely coming back!

A unique place in Honduras, great people, great stories, great food and great beer, right in the middle of a Tropical Forest. Eat delicious food, have wine while hummingbirds pass around you and unique orchids grow silently on nearby trees.

Great place to stay in the Honduran countryside, very near to Lake Yojoa. Clean rooms, helpful staff, and cool choice of beers (brewed onsite). I'll be going back to stay again.

Clean, comfortable rooms at very reasonable prices. The restaurant is good, too, but not always perfect. I don't drink, but my friend said the beers he tried were excellent, including the Peña Blanca Ale. Also, the natural fruit drinks are very good.

Great hostel, Lodge, brewery, and restaurant. Best beet in all of Central América! I love the atmosphere here. It is run by an ex pat who is well connected and invested in the community. It is staffed by locals instead of the typical backpackers. The clientele are local Hondurans plus travelers from all over the world. The lodging is set in a jungle environment. They offer tours to all the places travelers would want to go.

Nice plase for a must in Honduras. The place is nice and cleand. It is true that it doesn't have any views of the lake but is super near by. The beer is really good and plates are super generous! Staff is friendly and nice, and there are a lot of activities offer to explore and get in toucb with all the nature around. Only negatives for me was that there were some trouble with bathrooms while I was there, and as the place also is open to public (restaurant) the bathrrom for the people that stay in the dorms are the same than for the public. Besides that I recomend it!

Beautiful places in the middle of the jungle. You hear the animals from your room and it is so green everywhere. The food is delicious and the craft beer oh you must try that

Really beautiful place to stay, it is not by the lake however is set in the jungle. You are surrounded by the sounds of birds, with hummingbirds constantly circling the restaurant. The rooms are very comfortable and they have great hot water showers. I wasn't overly impressed with the menu choices for the price but did enjoy the burritos which are huge and great value for money. Would have loved a massage but there was no one on duty while we were visiting and also the computer they give out for guests was broken this is why I only gave 4 stars. Otherwise great place to stay.

The vibe and beer here are great, but the location leaves a lot to be desired. Not far from Lake Yajoa, but not on the lake, no views, and really nothing much to do there but eat and drink. The staff is super friendly and attentive. Other guests are mostly backpackers and gringos, super fun crowd.

D & D Brewery Review
Grounds & Location – Beautiful property – pool has been converted into a small garden. Also make sure you walk around the grounds and check out the many different tropical plants and flowers. The firepit is awesome – bring stuff to make your own s’mores (FYI – the San Pedro Sula bus station now has a grocery store – La Antorcha- which sells everything for s’mores), it would be fun if D&D sold a ‘make your own’ smores as a desert option. Location is good – close to the lake, close to the village – you can easily walk to town and buy a whole watermelon for less than a dollar (20 Lps), lots of other fresh produce as well – but there is no shared kitchen at D&D. Hitchhiking to the bigger town of Peña Blanca is pretty easy, a bus is 10 Lps.
Activities – There are many activities to choose from, many self-guided or tours. The information board is very helpful both for activity information and for travel planning/information. I did not have a chance to participate in any of the tours on this visit, but hope to in the future.
Staff – nice and super helpful, I generally see the owner (he is pretty hands on) at least once per visit, but did not see him on this trip
Website – update needed on bus price from San Pedro Sula to Los Narajos – price is now 50 Lps., unable to use promodias discount when booking online, although they will make adjustment at Brewery.
Food & Drink - mediocre
• Chicken Salad – ok - iceberg lettuce with green peppers, tomato, onion and chicken – disappointed because of iceberg lettuce, I would think in this climate they would have access to other (better) options than iceberg, maybe not though
• Mountain of Breakfast – huge & tasty – easily shared between two people
• Pineapple Chicken – MAJOR disappointment – menu says “filets covered in pineapple salsa. Served with grilled vegetables and even more pineapple.” Inaccurate description – the plate came with chicken breast with about 15 pieces of cut up pineapple – no pineapple salsa and not any more pineapple. No grilled veggies – there was pan fried chimol (onion, tomato, green pepper)
• Chimichurri Cheese Fries – awesome – I had these twice-I love chimichurri and they do a good one here, also love that they use the white Honduran cheese for the fries
• Blueberry pancakes – really good – lots of fresh blueberries, would be awesome if they made a blueberry syrup that I could bring home
• Pumpkin soup – ok - it is a sweat soup, comes with yummy chimichurri toast
• Broccoli soup – ok – nice for a cold night, thick and filling, also comes with the delicious chimichurri toast and a side of shredded cheddar cheese
• Anafres – great - one of my most favorite Honduran dishes, done pretty well here, fun ‘Face” anafre bowl, we got the basic, but you can add may things including, beef, sausage, jalapeño, tomato or onion. I ordered a side of chimichurri to mix in (which also should also be an option) because chimichurri in anafres is the bomb.
• French toast- NOT good – undercooked – did no finish, was hungry and on my way out, so ate the outside edges and left the middles
• Drinks – rum & limeade – good, beer flight- tasty and nice to try 5 different types of beers, hot chocolate – yum, hot chocolate with crème de menthe – awesome for a cold night
Rooms – Good for what you pay for; lack of places to hang wet clothes/towels was the biggest downfall
• 2 Nights in Private Room, private bath (H6) – right next to the entrance, thankfully the road is pretty quiet. WiFi did not reach the room – not ideal for someone that works online. Only 1 towel hanging bar. No floor mat for the shower, so if you don’t want water all over the bathroom floor, make sure you give a deposit for a towel each person + 1 for the floor. “Hot” water alternates between hot and warm. Only 1 small side table to put things on. Ample outlets for charging electronics.
• 1 Night in private room, shared bath (L3) – no bathmat in shared bathroom. Only 1 small table in room to put things on. NOWHERE to hang any towels. “Hot” water alternates between warm and cold.

What a gem. Good WiFi, hot showers, clean, beautiful environment. Dorms only $6.50! There is a lovely garden which attracts all kinds of butterflies and hummingbirds. The food was Not overpriced in any way. It's more expensive than street food, but you definitely get more than you pay for. It's some of the best food in Honduras and the portions are enormous. I was able to get two meals out of each one, but of course I'm a small woman and not a pig. I also ordered juice with each meal and still spent less than $40 in my three and a half days there on the dorm and the food and beverages. I can't even tell you how amazing the staff is, but I will try. They really, really go out of their way to help you in any way possible. They offered FREE rides, and truly bent over backwards to accommodate me. It's like their lives depend on you liking the place. The manager and tour guide speak fluent English and are there for you for WHATEVER you may need or want. Please, stay here if you're in the area. Nothing else compares. There's so much to do and see in this part of Honduras. I highly recommend the waterfalls. But seriously, d and d really made my trip and I'm excited to go back one day! It will be a must for me and i will plan to stay longer. Thanks, D and D for everything!! :)

Great place and spectacular in every way, save for the fact that when electricity went out for a day, there was no back-up generator, the bathrooms were totally dark (not to mention the water being frigidly cold!), and there was no suggestion that a back-up generator was en route (A small generator was on-line for the central office, but another would definitely be needed for the bathrooms / common areas this is not too much to ask :-).

Other than this, however, it was a marvelous place!
