  Small airport. Security was a breeze. I had no issues. I never felt uneasy about anything. It's a tiny airport I'm not sure why people expect great amenities. There aren't a whole lot of people traveling through here why would you expect a lot? It has a coffee shop and tiny souvenir shop. I would stop by the coffee shop to pick up a snack before going through security as there is only a small stand for food after security.

  PARKING THIEVESAs of this date, airport parking is $32 a day. That's $225 for a seven day trip. Look for hotels nearby that let you park there if you pay for a night or two. Aparthotel Villa Nuria has a great deal.

  Sketchy airport in the most dangerous city in the world If you're going make sure you talk to someone who knows the area well before you do and make sure you speak fluent English add most staff do not. If you're travelling through to Utila or Roatan make sure the connections are still flying, when I went the Utila flights speed flying two weeks before so hard to make new plans

  Nice clean airport although it could use some logistics improvements. Almost all the time you'd find a long line for immigration (going out) and another long line to go through security, so plan ahead, you might well lose a whole hour in this ordeal!

  Today 14 October 2011 six people were shot dead at the airport in an attempt at kidnapping someone who had arrived. This airport also has has many robberies happen inside it too according to the staff I spoke to. Anyone can enter the airport with weapons, without being checked for ID, without going through a metal detector and without possessing tickets for a flight. A complete disgrace and another tragedy is just waiting to happen here Its rare to see police. A disgrace how international airlines knowingly expose their customers to this unsafe environment when we are supposed to be at an all time high in international airport security! Airport authorities, police and security authorities are not working effectively here for the public's or national security. How many more need to be shot dead, threatened or robbed in an international airport? Or worse could happen. You will notice however that they do provide vigilant armed guards and supervision for the important things: taking your money at the bank desk collecting the high airport fees in (cash only) from every traveler.
