Scandalously overpriced for below average food. We went for Mother's Day. The roasted goose was tough and lacked meat; the sauce had clear separation of the oil and the base; that is a sign of amateur cooking. The salt and pepper squid served was without a doubt microwaved, zero crispyness.

This tourist trap is for show and for bragging rights. It is for the type of people who would feel good about themselves when they pay 500$ for a pair of eye-wear frames worth 20$ with a designer logo on it. We heard later that many unbiased locals actually advised NOT to go there and that make reviewers and social media channels hyping this place are from fakes.

Service was above average though. That's what my two stars are for because the food is worth zero star.

Overpriced. Goose was the only thing good here. I love getting hot and sour soup at every Chinese restaurant and theirs was quite weird tasting. We were very surprised to how much our bill came out to for just my wife and I. I am not afraid to spend $$ on high quality food but this was a mediocre dining experience. All the things you read and videos you see are all a hype. You will find many other places with delicious goose that is not overpriced. Yung Kee is taking advantage of the tourist hype. I would skip this tourist trap and eat somewhere else.

Michelin star awardee

We had our dinner here on the last night of Hong Kong trip.
The best roasted duck I have ever had. Crunchy the skin and yet juicy the meat which you doubt on how this could be.

Definitely the served best steam fish, prawn and desserts! We enjoyed having the dinner together where we could share laughter and most importantly, our food thought.

I like the food here. The roast goose was super awesome. However, the server was a little bit impolite at the first place. It is being better after we ordered several foods on the table. In conclusion, good place to try!

I went again this weekend (March 2018). The roast good was great as usual and staffs on the first floor were really helpful and did a good service :)

Recommended by many friends and family. The restaurant is highly renowned and is known for their roast goose. If you are a tourist and want to try some of the best Cantonese styled roast meats, you must give this place a chance. Bottom floor seems like a place to quickly grab something to eat while the upstairs (where our family sat) was more of a traditional sit down restaurant.

The traditional Chinese cuisine place with normal quality. The price were extremely expensive with normal standard. The goose taste so far so good. The food tastes simple and we are quite disappointed. We waited for 1 hour to get the seat for lunch. The staff were nice and helpful.

Extreme disappointment runs throughout my veins at this very moment. Being seated in the VIP room on new years eve, we decided we would like to sit in the common area because we had a private room which, on new years, we didnt want. Before switching we were assured we would be able to order the goose downstairs. We are seated downstairs and we order the goose. 15 minutes later we are told they are out of goose and they only have 5 goose legs left. 5. At once we order all five yet, they tell us one per table. So at the moment i have one goose leg to share for 6 people we flew from Chicago for a whole goose to share on new years, and we ended up with one goose leg, when we were assured a whole goose. Very let down at the moment and disappointed.
Nevertheless the food was ordered was tasty enough. Not significantly better than the chinese food we order in Chicago.
Its just annoying when we flew from Chicago for this goose among other things, and then to be assured we would receive it, and then only receive one leg, when five are available.
Also, literally 5 seconds ago as I was about to publish this, the waiter dripped a whole thing of sauce on my pants. Our server even laughed as he place our single goose leg for six people on the table.

Last night we were eating at a Thai restaurant at the Mandarin Oriental hotel in Bangkok. The food is outstanding, and the service is far superior. If given the option go there.

Liked the food here. Definitely try the goose like everyone recommends. Would suggest to tell the waitress not to pour the sauce over but around the sides as the skin loses its crispness. I personally love the sauce that it comes with. The chicken and vegetable dishes that we ordered didn't disappoint as well. Do prepare to wait in line to get a table, or if you're willing to pay 10% more to skip the queue, they have that option as well. Just ask the hostess.

Without a doubt, get their roasted goose. Or multiple if you eat a lot. Our party of 8 ended up 2 separate orders of the goose since we loved the first one and were still hungry at the end. The char siu was also super juicy and delicious. I'd skip on the soup that we ordered.

Agree with a lot of the other reviews here that the prices are a bit high, but that's what you're paying for a nicer restaurant. The service here was definitely way better than your typical Hong Kong service.

This place serves great roast goose and other seafood. Food quality is great but price could be a little steep. The brown sauce for the roast goose is really nice and so does the selection of seafood. They serve great quality shark fin soup and other seafood. Cured meat/ Chinese sausage is a must try as well. However, there is usually a long queue for dinner and many tourists come to this place. Service, however, could be improved with friendlier staff and better service to customer.

A must come for those who wanted to taste authentic cantonese cuisine and great quality food.

An upscaled Hong Kong restaurant that serves authentic chinese cuisine. Some of their dishes are good such as goose soup, chicken soup, seafood pot and waxed meat. The prices pricey though and many tourists patronize this restaurant.

Depending on each palate and affordability, it is either a place you will return for more or it will just be a one time visit.

Although known for the goose we got there too late and there was no more goose left. But we ordered other items from the menu which were good too. I may just revisit this review after I’ve finally tasted the goose.

Great place for roast goose! They have some preserved ham hanging on one side of the place and the pungent odor might not be pleasant for some people. But just move to another side and everything is ok. The place is pricey though so be prepared.

Had to wait for 5 mins after our roasted and fried dishes had been served. Service is terrible. Ordered 2 steamed rice and got 1 - waiter said only ordered 1 and started arguing with me - Hong Kong attitude getting worse and worse. Taste is mediocre at best and the steamed chicken was cold. Service as reiterated is better at a food stall and the quality of the food vs price is way better at other similar restaurants. As a Danish tourist can't recommend this place and will definitively never set my food here again. Nightmare!

The best barbecue red pork I have ever eaten in my life. The roasted goose was also good. But not as much as the roasted pork. The congee porridge had no taste at all. And the big melon soup thing was quite bland as well.

Read a lot about this place and have very high expectation but alas, we were thoroughly disappointed with the food especially since this is an award winning restaurant. But service and decoration are passable. Good for gathering but I have tasted way better Cantonese food in my short holiday here

Great place to grab either a big meal or like me, a light quick lunch. I went for the barbecue pork and rice as the suckling pig was already out! Great server who spoke both English and Cantonese. Menu in English too.

Stewed goose- you need to pre order this dish, it is a large serving and I would highly recommend for goose and offal lovers. The flavour is rich and intense. There is a lot of liver, blood and other offal inside. We ordered some extra plain noodles to eat with the broth which makes it less salty. The serving size is large, good to share with friends and family.

Poached chicken and garlic vegetables were standard.

Crystal prawn was a bit tough, it had a slight crisp coating and was served with some prawn paste. For me it was a boring tasting dish and the prawns were not juicy enough.

Century egg with ginger- the egg was really delicious with a bit of rich lava yolk in the middle. The ginger was fresh and refreshing.

The quality of food has deteriorated since the family disputed in court for the treasuers left by deceased father. However, it is still a good place to have meal there. The quality of food varies according to floor level. The 4th floor is the best whereas the ground floor is more casual.

Iconic impressive self contained building. Though the quality of the food has declined some what after the original owner sold out, it's still a great experience with good food. Crowded but well run, reservations recommended, otherwise go early. In the heart of the financial district, so streets outside bustle & hustle.

Extremely popular with mainland Chinese tourists. The food is good with real ingredients. The service is friendly. Knocked a star off for the atmosphere. This type of places used to be institutions that represent the real culture of Hong Kong. Nowadays they are becoming tourist traps.
