Loved this place. It has firepits to bbq in the evening, its close to lantau peak for the sunrise hike and very close to the big buddha. Its remote and a welcome break from the hustel and bustel of the city. Facilities are good too. Kitchen is super useful in the evenings. Great for solo travellers, couples or families.

Worst experience I've had. It says the stay is 7km from the airport. That's a lie, as long as you can't fly. Rude staff. Dirty rooms. Everything here are just terrible!

Not a clean place and it took us 45 min with a taxi to get there. Its not 7 km from the airport, it more than 20km. Its near by the famous Buddha but its long to everything else.

I was on a very strict timetable, so I only stayed one night. I was able to register for the YHA. I'm already planning to go back and stay for 5 days. Very quiet, secluded, yet just a short walk to Ngong Ping and all the sites on top of Lantau Island. I was supposed to receive my YHA card the morning after my stay, but I suppose my name is in the registry and I can receive it by email. Youth hostel was very clean and well managed. I had to book several weeks in advance because of Chinese New Year.

The place is right between the town and the hiking trailheads in perfect view of Lantau Peak. Andy, the guy that runs it, is super cool and knowledgeable about what to do in the area. Beds are comfy and it has a kitchen and laundry room. Would stay here again!

Was there in 2010. Stayed there few nights. Great rates. If you are member of youth hostel international you get extra discount. Easy transportation from Central Station. Great views.

Overlooks the largest peak on the island. Excellent location. Walkable to all that lantau has to offer. Very clean, friendly, helpful staff.

Keep in mind that the last bus from nearest metro Tung Chung MTR to the hostel departures around 6-7 pm.

A budgeted hostel for good backpackers. Value for money. You can go to different places on the Lantau Island such as the Big Buddha, Tai O and so on.
