Love this place. Nothing beats waking up in the morning on the beach. The place is really clean and free, but you can only get spots on a first come first serve basis. So get there early. Also you can buy equipment and meat for the BBQ pits from the stores around. Mavericks bar and restaurant next door is a nice place to chill and have a beer and burger.

This is a paid camp-site. If you dont hv own tent, seriously budget hotel would cost less. Went on a weekday in December weather, peaceful, but also means everything is not open. We decided to camp at Nam Shan site instead, since it is free and just about 35mins walk away.

It's free and it's a secure place managed by leisure and culture services department of Hong Kong. You can sometimes see groups of travelers having parties on the beach.

Sunday night. Not a public holiday. Beach is adequate, nice access to restaurants and beach equipment on the weekends. Location is jam packed. Feels like a refugee camp for Mainland Chinese people. Toilet facilities unclean and run down with excessive use. Constant yelling all night from free-range children and adults alike. Many people removing and eating clams and other wildlife from the sea. A lot of rubbish everywhere. Camp somewhere else.

A nice camping site with many facilities within a short walking distance. It is just next to the sandy Pui O Beach.
