Go early if you want to skip the long waiting hours. They open at 9:00, so be there around 8:00 / 8:30. Other than that, once I was in, the process went extremely quick and I was out again within 15 minutes. Staff is professional and organized.

This is China embassy and visa office, but no longer work for people rather than from China, since 19th Jan 2018. The new visa office has move to 20/F Capital Center at 151 Gloucester Road.

WARNING: department was moved to Capital Center, across the street.
I have different experience than others. Everyone is very nice and professional. I had one problem but it was my fold.
I do recommend to go there at 8:30, because at 9:00 there is already big queue.response / report this review -

It has moved! The website does not mention that. It's no longer in the China Resources building. It's across the street in the Capital Center on the 20th floor. Process is painfully slow, as expected, and staff are unpleasant and rude. You can only use a certain amount of wifi before they cut you off. Be sure to have an HK Sim card so they can call you when your visa is ready. Don't expect express service, the rules for visas constantly change. Bring your own photocopies, they cost $2 HKD per sheet if you need to do it there. I can't recommend not coming here, since attaining a visa is necessary to enter China, but be prepared to be miserable.

I was there to apply visa on Thursday 28th December 2017 , no need appointment I got in at 11:33am waiting and interview in 1 hour I was finished by 12:20 pm and I pay for express $600+$300 for me to pickup my 6 months visa on passport next day on 29th December 2017. Make sure if you have the Old Passport with your last China visa do take it’s with you. They need to see what you have before.

Luckily my experience was okay and went smoothly (from US). The wait times are always bad. Total wait time was around 2 hours total. They are SUPER STRICT! I made sure that I had everything, and even brought things I wouldn't think I would need. I brought my housing accommodations, driver's license, passport, plane itinerary, Hong Kong visa, etc. (basically bring everything with photocopies and originals). If the line for the photo machine is too long, you can go to the one in the Hong Kong Visa building next door on the 3rd floor (they have two machines and two ladies who guide people through for quicker lines).

Go online & make sure you have all req'd documents & make copies before going. these will be submitted with application form. there's photo booth if ur photo does not pass their requirements (cost HK$50.00). Expect more than 1 hr wait and yes, bring smthg to read or do. in-house tv monitor only show Mao Tze Dong program.

its a total scam!! I researched "Chinese embassy" and Google map this "china visa" popped up, they must have paid Google for this advertisement.but this is totally misleading as it's only an agent!!!! Not the official place for visa application!!! It's 200-500hkd more expensive than the embassy itself which is on th 7th floor.

Go early in the morning. Have every documentation ready. Photocopy costs 2 one dollar coins for each page. The photo machine requires 50 hkd. Good place to work as coffee shop without paying for coffee.

They won't make it easy for you, so make sure you have everything you need, and anything else you can think of just in case. Even then you'll have to bumble around a bit to find what you need to do. If you're getting a tourist Visa to China like I did, the entrance is in a side room to the right on the ground floor. You can't bring food in with you, and anything you can't bring in gets placed on an unprotected rack outside security.
You'll take an elevator after security, and turn left. In front of you is a line, with a man checking your papers at the end. He will give you a number, and you have to wait for it to be called. Even though he looked through your papers, you still might be rejected for missing something when you go to the counter. It's a long wait for that though, so bring something to do. Not every seat has enough light to comfortably read. When they do call your number, if you don't come quickly, you lose your chance, so keep an eye on what number is being called, and don't go anywhere.response / report this review -

Worst service ever!waited for the whole morning and rejected randomly with no proper reason! (at first they said the hotel document without any check in/check out date..and we pointed out then they said the document with no address even the hotel official chop was so apparently on the receipt..) staffs are so rude and never explain anything.

Got through fast as a US visa holder. Do not get a typical 2×2 passport photo, it'll be too big for the application. They have a copier for 1hkd each page and photo of 50hkd for one photo. My booth was nice and when i had to fill in more information i didn't need to get a new number. Prepare to wait at least an hour before you are called up.

My experience here was extremely disappointing. After finding their office with my completed form, I was informed by a terribly rude member of front of house staff. He grunted at me to fill in a new form! Apparently mine was old, but I had downloaded and printed off from the website a few days before. They should really update their website with the correct forms!
There were no instructions from the rude staff of what else was needed. I had to approach someone waiting a seperate in line to ask them what I should be doing and what they need before I approach the counter.
The guy at front of house checking my documents again was Soo incredibly rude.. I'm completely appalled by his behaviour! It would be really nice to see front of house staff were kind and helpful rather than the way he was with many people here. Absolutely horrible and frustrating experience!
So I thought I'd post here.. What you need before you queue. You'll need a completed form v.2013, photocopy of your passport, HKID or visa to work here, last visa entry to China and a passport photo of yourself.
Takes about 2 hours with all the faffing!response / report this review -
