Johnny's is located in monterrico beach The place is very nice has good food clean rooms. .they have various pools and you can even get a private one if you rent out the room Great happy hour Q10 cervezas You will go through some of these in the heat.

I came to Johnnys Place restaurant in Monterico because a lot of people recomended the heavenly out of this world seafood pizza. Unfortunately the pizza wasn't up to the expectation, don't get me wrong it was good but not heavenly. Drinks are cold but not iced cold as they should be anywhere by the sea. The view from the restaurant is amazing.

My favorite place in all of Monterrico, it is always my first choice, I like the facilities, the pools are very clean and the bar very good, the happy hour very cheap; Only problem: the waiters very lazy, the food takes a long time to be served. Otherwise nothing bad to say.

Great rooms , nice customer service. Beach is right off the bar. Happy hour is super cheap. Food is good. All around great place to come vacation, the pools are great also.

Nice food, lovely ambiance. WiFi didn't work in restaurant at all. Personnel seemed to be a bit lazy, ordering food was difficult and it took ages before we got our food, while it was not very busy.
But the food is really good!

The location is probably the best part of this hotel. There are small pools in front of every cluster of bungalows which was perfect for cooling off whenever the beach was way too hot to walk on. The restaurant was reasonably priced on food and a little on the expensive side for drinks, but you can take the drinks to any of the pools, which is a plus. My biggest issues were the room we stayed in. If you are in the first bunch of rooms (ours was 1B) then you will not be receiving ANY of the Wi-Fi promised by the hotel. You will instead have to go to the restaurant or the pools to check your emails. On top of that, there is no dedicated hot water in the rooms, which makes relaxing showers difficult.

Johnnys Place is for the most part the local hang out and Hostel.
The bar is filled each day with locals and guests looking out across the Pacific Ocean from the Bar.

The rooms are average slightly above a Hostel. Most go for the Bar crowd, playing on the beach.

Monterrico has a few negatives seldom mentioned.

The under toe is very dangerous along the coast and is well posted.
The weather is hot and then the weather is hotter.
In the evening the Mosquitoes arrive from the Mangrove swamp close to Monterrico.

Johnny's Place in Monterrico Guatemala is a beautiful place to stay. The staff is so friendly and helpful. The owners went out of their way to help us find what we wanted!! Thanks so much! Great place to relax and soak up the sun! If you want to party Saturday night is Party Night. The food was fantastic and the place was kept so nice and clean. Special thanks to Mario and his wife (owner) for having such wonderful staff especially Jorge and Delia(thanks for shopping for the baby sling) for making us feel so welcome.
