This was beautiful and relaxing, please don't forget to arrange that your ride come back for you you might walk the whole way down like we did.
You should be able to get a ride from the bridge for about 50Q and they should be able to come back to get you when you are finished. Plan about 2 hours, a little more if you feel like some hiking. Flip-flops would be handy to have, and be sure to bring a towel, the mountain air is cool and you want to dry off so you don't get cold. Cost for us to get in was 60Q pp. Didn't try the restaurant.
Nice place, just maybe too small or maybe too much people couldn't say.
A sensory treat in a lovely place
The hot springs were great! The service at the restaurant was great as well.
An absolute must if you go to xela..great ride to the fountains and environment ..
My favorite day trip from Xela. The pools were clean and the views were stunning. Just make sure you go on the weekdays, I have heard weekends get really crowded. Btw there were a few good stores and one restaurant here. We didn't try the food. But the ice creams and drinks from the store were good
This is a turistic place located in the municipality of Zunil, Quetzaltenango, the cost is Q30.00 per person plus Q20.00 for parking. The main characteristic of this place is the thermal and medicinal pool, because the water comes from the Zunil Volcano. It is a nice place, especially if you go to the pools at the bottom, however to visit this area in which children are not allowed. To get into this area you need to pay additional Q25.00 quetzales. Exchange rate Q7.50 per Us$1.00
The main pool is crowded and loud but the private Jacuzzi (+ Q25) are totally worth the extra price, immersed in nature and quiet.
Visited in the weekend and the place was very busy, but I suppose that is to be expected. The setting is pleasant, however the man made pools are pretty small aren't great. Judging by the smell of urine in the changing areas we weren't 100% confident that the waters were all that clean. To be honest it looks better in the pictures than in reality.
Great natural hot springs
Water was very warm; it was a nightmare to get out because of the cold. Beautiful scenery on the way. Try a day when there is no fog, though.
If you come early the morning you won't see any tourists (or almost)
Best place to relax and heal yourself. Hike to the hidden spots, the main pools are full of people.
You are going to love the road to get here, it's amazing. The place is really good, it has 3 pool with naturally warm water, at different temperatures each. Restaurant, locker service, bungalows(if you want to stay) and they even say the water has healing powers.
