Party, party , party
Chill, chill, chill
Nice place with "put on tab" system- it is required to leave passport at lobby untill checkout. Don't be surprised with your bill at the end after spinning party wheel;D
Live Garifuna music at Tuesdays and fridays. Everyday shared dinner at good price:)response / report this review -

Showers were cold and water was yellow. They charge for clean drinking water. They have a toilet off the kitchen/bar area that literally flushes to the ground/swamp below, so every time someone uses the bathroom you can see the water flow from the toilet out to their swamp. Smells like sewage.
It’s definitely a party hostel, lots of drinking and smoking.
Upside is that is was very affordable and one of only 2 hostels in Livingston, so I guess there’s not much to choose from. We got a private for Q120 which was excellent and why we stayed. Their breakfast is also SUPER delicious and I really enjoy their Q35 family dinner they have every night, very affordable and tasty and gets you to interact with other guests which is actually pretty nice :)
I like what they’re going for here but the place needs some love, new mattresses, big nets, plumbing and the staff need to get it together a bit, act a bit more professional.response / report this review -

I have some qualms about this place, BUT the vibe was really great and I was extremely comfortable here so I gave it a 4. It’s a nice place to hang out within the hostel and to meet people as well. There are plenty hammocks to snag if you need a nap.
Things I disliked were my bed (very springy), the WiFi was super shotty (the whole time for a little over two days), and the bathrooms weren’t very clean.
Regardless of those couple things, I’d still recommend this place, I really enjoyed my stay :)response / report this review -

The place is amazing, just step inside and you'll feel a really good vibe. The crew made sure everything was good during our stay and were really helpful. Hope to come back again and again. Must visit.

Casa de la iguana is by far the best hostel in Livingston. Great vibe, family-style dinner, music nights you name it. The boat-pool is great for cooling off on a hot day. I dont want to leave..

Stayed here due to a strong recommendation of a friend. Within the first night all the staff knew my name. You will be treated as a friend and a family member, instead of a client. Family style dinner every night brings people together and I wish I stayed there for 2 weeks instead of 2 nights. The swimming pool inside a boat is a bomb! I wouldn't stay anywhere else in Livingston should I ever go back.

A great hostel with a lovely, chilled out atmosphere. The rooms are all clean and the staff are friendly and fun. The food is nice and good sized portions, and the hostel offers lots of local activities.

Really great social vibe here. Totally relaxed and the owner and manager are super nice. There's live music twice a week and a day trip that takes you up the river to the Tiger Cave. Totally another world. Stunning. Looks like you're in the world of Robinson Crusoe/Swiss Family Robinson (basically the best of the Robinsons). Cool combination of both locals and backpackers hanging out at the bar at night. Unique place.

Don't go here! The problem in this Hostel is that you pay everything (room, beers and food) at the end. So it can happen that they charge you for example more beer than you had. And you have to pay it anyway because they take your passport at the beginning of your stay. There are much better places! We just went to mellow yellow hostel

Great raised platform for our travelling hammocks which have inclusive mosquito nets. Unfortunately the loud music until the first cockerell crows every night then drunken antics beyond that completely spoils any positive review. Livingston itself is okay for a day trip or connection but not much else.

Fine as a hostel but overpriced for the offerings. No outside food or drink allowed and no kitchen. They set up travel to La Seiba, Honduras for us that was not seen through.
