Perfect, but there was a problem with the wifi. Everything else was good
"Its OK" about sums it up. Its not that its bad, the staff and owners are friendly and responsive, the breakfast is plentiful. However the place is a little tired and looks a little shabby and they are a little short staffed. Those that are here are keen to help and its pretty clean and the bed comfortable. Half a mile walk to the Acropolis area and pretty central (even if the area has seen better times). Its pretty affordable. Would I stay again? Probably. Just dont expect 5* luxury Its OK.
Room adequate, not the cleanest or newest I've seen. Location good geographically, but practically it's not in the rizziest quarter of town.
Rooms are nothing like the picture, no tea or coffee facility or water. Damaged windows. Paint coming off the wall in the bathroom. Poor bathroom ect
Well serviced and air-conditioned, nice buffet. Neighbourhood a little seedy.
The Art Hotel is a gem! Although the rooms are not perfect, they are quite nice. The service is excellent and speaks English well. The decorations are on point, and everything comes together well. Don't be fooled by the run down surroundings, the Art is quite good!
Very good hotel. Judt arrived and the lady in the reception was absolutely kind to us explaining all about Athens, what to see and where to go. Its decoration is inspired in modernism and subrealism era, 1920's 1930's. The golden star is about the personal, which is wonderful and very kind.
Booked this hotel only because we saw it's 4-star. However I don't think it deserves to be even a 2 star hotel. Bad breakfast, dirty rooms, slow wi-fi, rude customer service were some of the problems we faced. On one occasion, a lady snatched away tissues which we'd taken from our table. We were appalled to see this kind of behavior. Also, the lift doesn't work when we want to go down. Toiletries were not provided etc. Sadly, the list can go on and on.. Only good point I can think about was the sweet receptionist lady on our first day who explained Us everything about the surrounding areas and Athens in detail. Also the old receptionist man at night was very kind and a thorough gentleman who packed our breakfast for us.
Welcoming staff, nice breakfast, tv and fringe in every room.
To the price they're taking-it's worth it.
close to the metro. great staff, nice breakfast. not far from center city
Many of the reviews here seem to be judging the hotel by the circumstances Athens and Greece have found themselves in following the global financial crisis, which is stupid. You cannot fault the hotel or its staff for the condition that this area of the city happens to be in. Though the area seems rough, we had no problems. The hotel is comfortable, with good facilities and very friendly staff. The continental breakfast is incredible, and very useful when you are looking at a long day of exploration. The hotel is close to a couple of city squares and metro options, and is in reasonable walking distance to the Archaeological Museum, Acropolis and several other archaeological sites. For the price they are asking, you really cannot fault Art Hotel. Probably best for couples and young explorers.
