Hote is good; its the bumpsters outside you get annoyed(locals ) with, they try to get money off you for virtually doing nothing. Them again £30 a month is the maximum they can ever earn!!

A lovely environment located in serene serrekunda in Banjul, Gambia. It maintained its natural fauna and flora whilst providing 346 accommodation spaces of various sizes. It's located along the shoreline of the Gambia and has a wonderful ocean view, also with an ocean side kitchen where hot foods are served and bar for drinks. It contains 3 swmining pools for leisure, one of these for kids. The topography of the land is undulating giving it an excellent landscaping with lots of green area, garden and lawn. It also has areas for games and sports such as volley ball, basketball, table tennis, lawn tennis etc. The premises has spots for sale of art works and gift shops are also available in and around the premises. It has a spar for body massage and body cure. Good live music is provided by locals through a live band. Natural animals that exists in the natural environment can be seen around like monkeys, squirrels and birds, with a bird watching facility on the premises.

Senegambia Beach hotel is a lovely place for vacation for the family and all ages groups as it has facilities for a pleasant and memorable stay.

Have stayed at the senegambia hotel 5 times now. Will definitely go back for a 6th time. They are doing their best to improve the hotel and the beach. The staff are always friendly and will do anything for you.. especially those around the pool . Look out for jarra and memo they really do go the extra mile to help.

Absolutely cracking hotel for essentially a 3rd world country. Vulture feeding at 11.30am and cute monkeys everywhere!
Breakfast was great with a large choice of food. The hotel is right at the end of the strip as well so it's in a perfect location. Honestly the best hotel in Gambia!
I would eat lunch and dinner and do tours directly from the Gambian people though to actually give towards the people that need it.

The hotel is inside the nature, lovely! Close to restaurants and bars, very central. Rooms are quite big, cleaning is fine. Wifi works good. The only complain would be the room service but, still,I would stay there again.

This is a spacious hotel with a good grounds and direct beach access. We've just spent a week there, and seen it before. Our comments:
1. Staff try. Other T.A. comment on staff being rude. To be honest, some can be. Their English is not good as it appears. Some can feel under pressure, and can be a little brittle, and to be honest - we tourists can be careless, and short tempered. But they love a few kind worths, and will enjoy a little joke.
2. Food. Great breakfasts. Eating in at D625 all in is in fact good value compared to the main road. As it is self service, the problem is we often over eat!
3. Drink. Ah, they make their money on the booze. Go out for a drink. So called happy Hours are just the beer I'm afraid.
4. Cleanliness. Good, though some of the rooms are "tired" Staff do well though.
5. Vibe. Last week was a quiet week, but the place still had a good buzz. If you are under 40 (long time ago for me), then it might seem an old crowd. Lot of Brits and tons of Dutch. Entertainments were dull. Little engagement with the audiences. Pity as the artists tried, but somehow it did not work well.
6. Wifi. Grim. With over 300 guests and so over 350 devices, the wifi gets hammered. Some phones work a bit better than others (mine did not work well at all), and this could be for phone specific reasons.
7. Grounds, Pool, Beach. Great for seeing interesting birds, monkeys (only mildly badly behaved). Pools were OK. Beach is narrow by the Hotel, but there is fantastic beach v near by.
8. Electricity. Very short powercuts happen. BUT, the bedrooms have 2 pin continental sockets. Beware. Adaptors can be got from Reception.

Would I go back there? Yes. Enjoy it, not perfect, but you'll pay more for that, and it will be quieter and more snooty.

Theft in rooms!

This hotel is not safe to keep valuables in. while we stayed in the hotel i heard some really sad stories. Other guests had money stolen from their rooms. The morning we were leaving we had a really quick breakfast. When returning to our room the door was wide open. I´m sure that they have a system for stealing in this hotel. What are the odds that someone manages to open our door and get out exactly the 15 minutes we are away at 7am? When the cleaning staff that have keys is not even there? The manager we reported to just asked us to write something on a black sheet and told us that many people in the hotel missplaces their things and money.

Find another hotel!

Overrated and some staff very rude. Pools good as is the vulture feeding drinks expensive and if you want a guest to stay over prices charged are ridiculous. Breakfast good range but again some staff rude. Everyone seems to be nice in check out day ie tip day

Reasons to love the hotel, in no particular order:
Central location in tourist area
Quality of restaurants around hotel
In-hotel restaurants
Breakfast menu and choice
2 pools
Bumster-free hotel beach
Huge gardens with bird diversity, monkeys strolling through
Hotel cats living on-site
Friendliness of staff
Helpfulness of staff
On-site shopping, mobile phone and internet-shops, massage and wellness offers
Evening entertainment, esp during main season
Renovated rooms are spacious and very clean
Hotel "houses" dotted throughout the garden

Negative points:
Wifi unreliable and weak
Bumsters on Senegambia strip as soon as you leave hotel area are a real pain and potentially 50% of tourists never come back to Gambia because of them. They really are a big pest and destroy every moment of serenity, e.g. when wanting to stroll on the beach. Not a problem of the hotel though, a basic Gambian problem.

ps not only wifi sucks. all 4 mobile operators suck. no sign of 4g. 3g off most of the time. edge rulezzz

Senegambia beach hotel: good place to stay during your visit to The Gambia.
Daily entertainment!

Tip1: for taxi ask for driver OMAR (dark green old Mercedes) at the taxi stand! If booked at the hotel you pay triple as much!
Trustworthy guy.

Tip2: for a personal tourguide, contact Modou Njie (works by night at the restaurant Jewel of India)
History teacher by day, so he knows a lot of interesting facts!

I came home from a wonderful 2 weeks holiday in the hotel. No complains at all. Good clean room, friendly nice people working there. Breakfast 10 stars. I give my best recommendations to the hotel and will go back.
