Turned up here when they were ringing birds. It was made pretty obvious that we were not welcome on the reserve . we were permitted to go to the sea shore and observe sea birds provided we didn't go into any other area

See what others miss! I spent a day being guided by Colin Cross and what a superb day it was Colin is incredibly knowledgeable and being resident at Kartong he knows what is about around the observatory & where to look for it I saw 2 new species Pygmy Geese and White Fronted Plover but without Colin to guide me I could have been there all day & missed them During my lunch cooked by his wife Binta an enormous crocodile 3/4 mtr in length cruised the marsh so take care! Our afternoon boat trip down the river was a perfect balance to the mornings walking so relaxing & interesting too Great food & great time Check first as Colin could be running one of his bird ringing courses & unable to give you the grand tour
