These steps are a great way to see the eastern portion of Gibraltar. I recommend starting at the Jewish Cemetery and climbing up the mountain rather than starting here at the mark of the map and walking down. The views and the flowers are well worth the trip and while it is marked difficult it is doable if you can climb steps.
The Mediterranean steps are a must see when visiting Gibraltar! It’s a beautiful little hike up to the rock with great views of Africa, Algeciras and the coast line! Important- DON’T forget to take water!
By far the best way to enjoy the rock, really not that hard for anyone for and healthy, no water or stops etc though and the sun is strong on the East side but you can be up in an hour, great scenery.
Too many stepbut can't beat the beautiful views
This is a tough walk but very rewarding. The views of the African and Spanish coastline are fabulous. It seemed like the longest 1.8km I have ever walked. Also be aware this walk is on the eastern side of the rock with little cover, and in summer late morning, early afternoon you will have the sun blazing down on you. Hiking boots will help as surface pretty rough.
Best views in the upper rock!
Most horrible thing I’ve ever done
Breathtaking view
Quite a hike! Only for the fit. Be smart and start your hike up early because the sun beats hard on the east side of the Rock. Also wear good hiking boots because the loose gravel can be slippery.
Amazing views! The stairs going up at the last bit are hard work though especially in hot weather.
Great hike beautiful vistas
Great hike with incredible views.
Very nice footpath. 1800m long and elevation 243m. Beautiful views during all route.
