Following my recent inspection of this facility on Thursday: The zoo is 60+ years old and in need of renovation. The enclosures are the originals and the aesthetics of the Zoo need modernisation.
However, there are a lot of species on display and all are in great condition and appear very content.
You can see: warthog, a grass monitor, chimps, a baby elephant, baboons, peacocks, a crown eagle, a Gaboon viper (snake), African parrots, giant tortoises, porcupines, hawks, 3 different species of monkeys and West African crocodiles. These will be joined by two sub-adult lions in the very near future.
The zoo needs the support of the public and International visitors to fund improvements and guarantee the welfare of the animals in its care. Look past the aesthetics of this zoo and come and meet the friendly keepers and see the magnificent animals.

Highly disappointed at what I was charged GHS 10 as a tertiary student without an ID card to see.
Honestly, Honestly, this is wack. All the have there are 60% monkeys, 20% snakes and 20% others.
