Colonial Tourism at the Green Ranch - the Lake Guest House is the better choice!

In South Africa, excursions are now offered to the townships - the poorest of the poor as a tourist attraction. The safaris through the vast steppes of Africa are to serve the African clichés of Western tourists, who owe their support to the media.

A particularly perfidious example of colonial tourism is the Green Ranch on Lake Bosumtwe in Ghana. On horseback, tourists can enjoy the bitter poverty of people living in mud huts and then round off the event with an expensive vegan meal.

The owner rides her horses through the clear water of the lake (please have a look at the photos on the website), which pollute the animals with their feces. THE SAME WATER SERVES THE RESIDENTS AS DRINKING WATER, who repeatedly suffer from diseases caused by contaminated water. People have to drink dirty water in order for the hotel's entertainment-oriented t concept to flourish.

The Lake Guest House is much better then the Green Ranch!

We stayed one night there, they asked for 100 cedi for a small room with ac, which would be ok if everything works. But There was no water in the bathroom, in the bathroom it was a lot of sand and everything was dirty, also some waste in the bathroom. The door of the shower was broken. The bed had dirty sheets. So we tried to have a better price which was hard discussion. We dicussed a price if the water is coming and if not. In the evening, we had no water, but nobody was around for 4 hours to bring us some water to flush the toilet. In the mornig they told us that they can not serve the breakfast for the price we discussed. So we phoned with the owner of the hotel, she was just telling us that we have to pay extra for breakfast, but we discussed always about the price including breakfast. So it was a lot of discussion and trouble for us and also for the workers there, because the boss of them was angry that they gave us the room for a better price. I have told the boss on the phone if they would have given the room to a higher price, we would not have stayed.
So in total its a nice hotel direkt at the beach, but really bad maintained. Also the beds are comfortable. So just go there if you like long discussions or if you wanna give them a chance, maybe they have changed something

Anyone visiting Ghana, has to make a stop in Kumasi and visit lake bosomtwi. While you're there, Lake Inn Guest House is the best place to relax, eat, drink and receive 4 star service. I definitely enjoyed myself.
